After five dedicated and memory making years, the reign of Paul Bonnell as head coach of the Bonners Ferry High School boys’ soccer program has officially come to a close. What he leaves behind is far more than a coaching record, it’s a legacy built on consistency, player development, and a deep commitment to the Badger community and community of Bonners Ferry as a whole.
Under Bonnell’s leadership, the BFHS soccer program grew in skill, strength and character, shaping countless young athletes both on and off the field. His final season was no exception. The Badgers closed out the 2026 season with a strong 12 - 9 overall record, including an impressive 7 - 3 run in Intermountain League play, a testament to the team’s resilience and the steady guidance Bonnell has faithfully provided year after year.
His departure marks the end of an era for Bonners Ferry soccer, one defined by hard work, sportsmanship, and a coach who poured his heart into every practice, every match, and every player who wore the Badger blue.
Matt Solis has officially accepted the position of Head Coach for the Bonners Ferry Boys’ Soccer program, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Badgers. Known for his love, enthusiasm, vision, and commitment to developing young athletes, Solis steps into the role ready to build on the foundation laid before him and guide the program into its next era.
