In honor of the NLCS lets share some great baseball stories. I'll start
Somewhere in the 1980s Carlton Fisk (one of my all time favorites) was catching for a mediocre White Sox team. The Yankees were in town. A rookie pitcher was getting lit up and the manager left him in to work his way through it. The rook strikes out the 1st batter of the inning and gets mad that Fisk doesn't throw it around the horn. Carlton calls time and trots out to the mound. "Look kid, NY beat us by 6 yesterday, they're currently beating us by 5 and they're probably gonna beat us by 7 tomorrow. The last thing I'm gonna do is p**s them off by throwing it around the horn when we're losing. As a matter of fact, why don't you go sit down, you're done!" The kid trotted to the dugout and sat down. Manager asked what the hell he was doing. Rookie replied that "Fisk said I was done and to go sit down". Manager says "OK, I guess you're done. But we don't have anyone warming up in the bullpen."
