On Friday evening I was honored to have local chef Natalie Stein accommodate us for my campaign fundraising event. Her small business, Thyme To-Go, hosts “The Neighborhood Table” twice a month, and our group was lucky to experience this delicious, Farm to Table meal together. We were able to raise $1,100 from this event while getting to know our neighbors better, breaking bread and having great conversations that made for an unforgettable evening.

We had discussions about some of the problems we see currently in Poway, and what the future may hold for us, if we continue with unchanged leadership. We have the opportunity to gain a 3-vote majority on council with me as Mayor, Bob Walder for District 3, and Jenny Maeda finishing her District 4 commitments. Cast your vote for top of the ticket this November 3rd, to secure fresh leadership Poway deserves.

Honestly, the plastic / teflon extrusion process NEVER occurred to me.

I’m happy to say that all of my pasta is made from scratch, rolled and cut with stainless steel. Fresh, simple ingredients are good for the soul!

At a time when traditional restaurants are facing rising rents, food costs, labor expenses, and increasing overhead, MEHKOs can offer an exciting alternative which allow chefs and food entrepreneurs to create memorable dining experiences on a smaller, more personal scale.

For me, it’s about more than simply serving dinner, it’s about creating a place where neighbors and guests can gather, connect and enjoy food that celebrates what is fresh and available locally.
