I want to thank you for an incredible if not painful 9 years! I have been blessed with a plethora of amazing staff who have seen me through what has been quite a rollercoaster for the last 5 years. As I am sure you are aware, it is getting harder and harder everyday to run a business let alone survive throughout this crazy world. I know you all come to these parties hoping to mingle with us and some of you have had the unfortunate pleasure of finding us out in the wild, but the truth is, outside of my narcissistic 50th birthday party these parties are about thanking you for giving me the opportunity to work for myself and surround myself with people I both like and love! The unfortunate truth of the matter is that I am terrible at capitalism, while I tread financial water all the time I am actually quite proud to be able to be myself all the time even if my bank account is an embarrassment😊 The point is, this is the last year of my lease in this location. I am going to try to tread water through the whole year, I have a pretty great and understanding landlord. Back in 2017 and then in 2022 I thought I would eventually have enough money to change locations or even buy this space. Unfortunately, I have not been financially successful, however I am blown away every day how successful we have been in this neighborhood! While I may have disappointed my Biological Dad who made this dream a reality, I hope I will not disappoint you. I am going to strive to make this year an incredible year for all of us, fighting the fascist takeover, promoting books and all the arts, voting for positive change, rejecting toxic masculinity and r**e culture, protecting and celebrating diversity and toasting our success with wh***ey and pizza! I love this shop and I love all of you! If this is the last year, let’s make if fu***ng amazing!
