McMenamins Crystal Hotel and Hal's Café

Located just across the street from the legendary Crystal Ballroom. Today, we hold live music, artist residencies, pre- and post-concert performances and more.

Located just across the street from the legendary Crystal Ballroom, the Crystal Hotel has 51 comfortable guestrooms, each inspired by a song or performance from the Crystal Ballroom's past 100 years. Our bright, first-floor restaurant, Zeus Café, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared using the freshest Northwest ingredients possible. Head downstairs to hang out at Al’s Den, a music venue named for Al Winter, Portland's gambling overlord who, in the 1940s, managed his vast empire that spanned the Pacific Northwest and into Las Vegas from this very location.

Don't miss snapping a photo with Paul Birdyan before he flies away! You have through the end of October.

While you're at it, grab one of our Calling All Crows cocktail which features Lauder's Scotch, fresh-squeezed lemon, and our house-made grenadine. $1 from each cocktail sold goes to OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital!

One thing you can count one here at Crystal Hotel: Art. Art EVERYWHERE. We wouldn't be McMenamins without it!

From Al's Den to Hal's Café to the hotel rooms: There's art around every corner depicting stories from the building's past and iconic performances from Crystal Ballroom.

Pro tip: Some of the paintings have QR codes by them you can scan and learn about what you're looking at!

Life is too short for bland lunches! Shake things up at Hal's Café instead.

Our recommendation? Try the Café Caesar with grilled chicken and a delicious craft cocktail to pair it with (Or try one of our NA options!).
