A New Chapter for La Arepa ❤️

Dear Customers,

After successfully navigating the first stage of opening our new location, we have made the difficult but exciting decision to close our food cart on Halsey.

Our journey as a food cart is coming to an end, and it fills us with gratitude as we look back on all these wonderful years. We are especially thankful to our loyal customers at Barley Pod, who have supported us consistently since 2018. Your encouragement, visits, and friendship have been a huge part of our story, and we cannot thank you enough.

This food cart also marks the closing of an important chapter in our history as a food cart business. Its story follows the path that began with our very first cart, opened in 2010 at the food pod formerly known as A La Cart Food Pavilion on SE 52nd and Division. Looking back on how far we have come fills us with pride and gratitude. At the same time, we recognize that some chapters must come to an end so new ones can begin. While saying goodbye is never easy, closing this chapter allows us to continue growing and serving our community for many years to come.

The main reason for this change is simple: our new location is now very close to you. We will continue serving the same fresh, authentic, and delicious Venezuelan food you love—just a short 6-minute drive away. With both locations being so close together, it no longer makes sense for us to operate both businesses.

We truly believe this transition will allow us to serve you even better in the future. We would also like to apologize for the recent schedule changes and adjustments at the food cart. This transition involves many moving parts, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through them.

Please continue checking our website, Google, and Yelp pages for the latest updates, as our hours will change between now and our final week at Barley Pod.

Food Cart Schedule Through Closing

Wednesday & Thursday: 12:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Closed: Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14
Closed: Sunday, June 21

We will use the final weekend of June to move our trailer and complete the transition. Therefore, our last day of service at Barley Pod will be Friday, June 26, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

With love and gratitude, we say goodbye to Barley Pod—a place that will always hold a special place in the history and heart of La Arepa. While this chapter is ending, we are excited to continue serving you nearby at our new home:
