G-PISD dietitian Jubi Torres is back in the classroom sharing stories! On October 6, she visited Mrs. McMillin’s second-grade class at East Cliff Elementary School to read “The Girls Who Lived in the Refrigerator” by David Grotto.

A little teamwork, a lot of watermelon and plenty of lunchtime smiles! 🍉❤️

T.M. Clark Elementary School celebrated Texas Farm Fresh Month on Friday with Texas watermelon! The kitchen manager handled the slicing, the team prepared individual portions, and students picked up a sweet addition to their lunches.

Thank you to the TMC cafeteria crew for the care behind every serving and for bringing fresh Texas flavors to the lunchtime adventure! 🌱🍽️

The journey continues! After getting to know the team at Early Childhood Center, the next stop on the adventure is .C. Andrews Elementary School.

Meet the W.C. Andrews Kitchen Expedition Crew—the team working together each school day to prepare and serve meals that help students stay fueled for everything ahead.

Over the next several posts, The People Behind the Meals will introduce the Kitchen Expedition Leader and each of the Wildcat Café Explorers who make this team complete. 🧭🍽️

This familiar cafeteria favorite is getting a little extra attention during Texas Farm Fresh Month. Whole apples are served on Wednesdays at G-PISD elementary schools, Middle School and High School!

Ahead of Wednesday’s lunch, explore the graphic for fun facts and ways to enjoy apples. There’s always something new to discover—even about a fruit students already know! 🍏

🎪 Dot Day delivered at S.F. Austin Elementary School Café!

Circus stickers, surprise capsules, colorful prizes, and student smiles made the final day of National School Lunch Week an adventure to remember! 🎟️🌈

The café team brought the fun in their polka-dot circus outfits, and students proudly showed off their Dot Day treasures.

Thank you to the SFA café crew for putting so much heart into this celebration—and for making the cafeteria a place where meals and happy memories come together. 🍎✨

The circus celebration may be over, but the adventure continues!

🎪 Little learners, BIG circus spirit!

The G-P Early Childhood Center café team topped off National School Lunch Week with colorful circus hats and a whole lot of heart! 🌈✨

This crew helps our youngest students discover that the cafeteria is part of the school-day adventure—with nourishing meals, friendly faces, and a little extra fun along the way.

Hats off—or should that be hats ON?—to the ECC team for fueling the adventure! 👏🍎

Some adventures bring childhood dreams full circle! Yoli dreamed of becoming a cook when she was young, and today she is one of the Wildcat Café Explorers serving the little learners at G-P Early Childhood Center .

For Yoli, one of the best parts of the journey is seeing students happy to eat. 🧭
