ATTN: spice lovers! If you really like to feel the burn, we are trying out a new dipping sauce: GINISERA SAUCE 🔥🌶️

"Ginisera" is slang for *extremely* spicy, and this sauce is worthy of the name. While it has similar sweetness and brightness to our (medium-spicy) green chili sauce, it brings the heat with a base of red Thai chilies and a dash of Carolina Reapers and Ghost Peppers. 🥵

If pain is your game, try some with any of our short eats! We warned you. ⚠️

Six years ago today, we opened the world's first vegan Sri Lankan restaurant here on Belmont, serving takeout only in the middle of the pandemic. Smartest idea? Perhaps not - but it's worked out so far, thanks to some hard work and really great customers. ❤️💛

We're celebrating today through Sunday with special curries (incl. fan fav cashew curry) and some DEALS! Since the weather can't decide if it's hot or cold, we've got two $6 dine-in-only specials:

🥤COLA COLOMBO | usually $10, our scratch-made cola has made waves since we introduced it last year. Its flavor is unmistakably cola, but the Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, black tea, and variety of other spices make it shine. Add rum or wh***ey for $5.

🍎 LANKAN-SPICED SHRUB C***R | usually $11, this is our third year serving fresh, local hot c***r mulled with Ceylon cinnamon, cloves, coriander, and nutmeg, then finished with housemade shrub, fresh pineapple, and orange. Add local apple brandy for $5.

Good morning! We're OPEN at 10 AM, but wanted to let y'all know that a Ford F-150 plowed through our streetside seating structure late last night. 😩

We have plenty of other seating and we don't plan to leave it looking like this for long. The timing is unfortunate though. Holiday weekends like Labor Day are some of the couple dozen days each year where the extra seating is useful.

We have insurance that should cover this with a $1,000 deductible. A neighbor left a note that they have video of the truck driving away (plus the truck left behind parts with barcodes that confirm the make/model), so maybe even the driver's insurance will end up covering it.

[Before anyone asks, no we won't be collecting donations or anything like that. We've made it through much bigger challenges! Come grab some food if you'd like, otherwise please direct your money toward folks and organizations that really need it]

Our rice & curry specials for the weekend are 💯 - taro root curry, tempered carrots, mung bean mallum, and a rare appearance for one of our favorites, gotukola sambol (pennywort salad). A perfect balance of flavors! and dare we say, better than any burger 😁

🍔🚨 BURGER WEEK starts tomorrow (Monday)! Things to know:

1. MONDAY ONLY - $2 off all b**r with purchase of any food! All day!🍻

2. We're serving the DEVILED BURGER this year, featuring our "famous" deviled pork, an impossible patty, curry leaf ranch, pickled banana peps, tomato, and onion. It's messy and really, really delicious. 👹

3. We have a gluten-free option! Just sub the bun for $2. 👍

4. Fries and onion rings are $4 to add. 🍟

5. Full menu available all week. Burgers go great with rice & curry! 😆

6. Even with a $10 burger, we still don't take tips. Order more food and drinks to support the cooperative! Come back in the winter! ❄️

The weekend last year was very busy, so we encourage you to come earlier in the week! Cheap b**r on Monday! 🍻🌞

If stores can have Halloween stuff out, we can serve pumpkin curry! This is the smoky version made with toasted coconut (wattakka kalu pol), so come breathe some clean air on our patio while we keep the smokiness on your plate 🌞🎃
