đ¶ Whatâs Coming Up at Tomorrowâs Verse
Weâve added a few more things to the calendar, so we wanted to send out a quick update on whatâs happening at Tomorrowâs Verse over the next few weeks.
Live music, Music Bingo, trivia, cribbage, Brazilian jazz, sea shanties, a neighborhood potluck â thereâs a lot going on as we head through the second half of August.

AUGUST AT TOMORROWâS VERSE
THURSDAY, AUGUST 13 â BOBBY VEGA & FRIENDS
This is a special one.
Bobby Vega is one of those musicians whose rĂ©sumĂ© almost sounds made up. A legendary Bay Area bassist, Bobby has played and recorded with an incredible list of artists, including Sly Stone, Santana, Jefferson Starship, Tower of Power, Etta James and Jerry Garcia. Heâs particularly beloved in the funk and jam worlds for his unmistakable pick-style bass playing, huge groove and decades of stories and musical history.
And you get to see him in a room the size of Tomorrowâs Verse.
We want this show to be accessible while also making sure the musicians get paid, so admission is a $5â$20 sliding scale. Pay what works for you. If you can swing $20, fantastic. If $5 gets you in the room, come on in.
Donât sleep on this one.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 â GALEN CLARK TRIO
Another show weâre extremely excited about.
Portland keyboardist and composer Galen Clark brings his organ trio to Tomorrowâs Verse with Jack Radsliff on guitar and David Hagen on drums.
Galen is best known as the founder and keyboardist of Outer Orbit and Trio Subtonic, and his music lives in that sweet spot where jazz, funk, soul and groove all meet. Put him together with Radsliff and Hagen in our intimate room and this should be an absolutely killer night of music.
$15 advance / $20 day of show
Advance tickets available at youenjoymybeer.com (http://www.youenjoymybeer.com)

Classic Simpsons Trivia returns with an entire night dedicated to the episodes youâve watched approximately 700 times.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22 â DUB ORQUESTRA PLAYS BOB MARLEY
One of our favorite Portland reggae outfits takes on the music of one of the most influential artists of all time.
Dub Orquestra plays Bob Marley â an evening of deep grooves, dub, reggae and classic Marley tunes in the intimate confines of Tomorrowâs Verse.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 23 â BRAZILIAN RODA DE CHORO (Brazilian Jazz)
2:30 PM
One of the coolest afternoons we host each month.
A roda de choro is a traditional Brazilian musical gathering where musicians sit together in a circle and play choro â an instrumental Brazilian style that blends incredible musicianship with the loose, communal feel of a jam session.
Our monthly gathering is hosted by Tim Connell on mandolin and Sean Watson on 7-string guitar, joined by a rotating group of fantastic local musicians.
You donât need to know anything about Brazilian music to enjoy it. Grab a beer, settle in and experience something a little different on a Sunday afternoon.
2:30 PM | No cover
---
THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 â SEA SHANTY SING ALONG | 7 PM
You know the deal.
Songs of sailors, storms, drinking, questionable decisions and occasionally returning home alive.
Grab a pint, grab a lyric sheet and sing along. Musical ability is entirely optional. Enthusiasm helps.
7 PM | No cover

SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 â SUMMERâS NOT DEAD YET POTLUCK | 3 PM
The calendar may be trying to tell us summer is winding down.
We refuse to accept that.
So weâre throwing a Summerâs Not Dead Yet Potluck on Sunday afternoon.
Bring a favorite summer dish to share â BBQ, salads, dips, chips, fruit, desserts, picnic food, something from the garden, your auntâs mysterious casserole... whatever says *summer* to you.
Nothing fancy and no competition. Just a neighborhood potluck, cold drinks and an excuse to hang out together and squeeze a little more life out of summer.
Bring a dish if you can. If you can't, come hang out anyway.
Sunday, August 30 | 3 PM

SEE YOU AT TOMORROWâS VERSE
Thatâs the latest â and knowing us, weâll probably add something else before the month is over.
Thanks, as always, for supporting live music, weird little community events and your neighborhood taproom. Whether youâre coming in to hear a legendary bass player, sing a sea shanty, peg a 24 hand, argue about a Simpsons episode or just have a beer at the bar, weâre glad youâre here.
