đŸŽ¶ JOE MADE US DO IT. đŸŽ¶

Tonight’s Music Bingo theme is One Hit Wonders, Guilty Pleasures & Earworms — otherwise known as Joe’s Entire Music Collection.

That’s right. Our beertender Joe has finally found his moment. The songs he loves. The songs he defends. The songs that get stuck in your head for three straight days. The songs you claim to hate right up until the chorus hits and suddenly you know EVERY. SINGLE. WORD.

Come find out just how much musical damage one bartender can do.

MUSIC BINGO

Expect one-hit wonders. Expect guilty pleasures. Expect relentless earworms.

And if you leave humming the same song for the rest of the week, blame Joe.

đŸ”„ THIS THURSDAY AT TOMORROW’S VERSE — BOBBY VEGA!

We’re pretty damn excited about this one.

This Thursday, Bobby Vega brings the low end to Tomorrow’s Verse, joined by two of Portland’s finest: Tate Peterson on guitar and Micah Kassell on drums.

If you don’t know Bobby’s rĂ©sumĂ©, it’s ridiculous. He started playing professionally as a teenager with Bo Diddley, and his unmistakable picked-and-muted bass playing can be heard on Sly Stone’s High on You. From there, Bobby went on to play with an incredible list of artists including Jerry Garcia, Carlos Santana, Tower of Power, Etta James, Billy Preston, Paul Butterfield and Jefferson Starship.

And for the jam-heads, Bobby is especially beloved for his work with Zero and KVHW, alongside Steve Kimock — music that helped make him a cult hero among players and fans who appreciate seriously deep grooves and fearless improvisation. (Guitar World)

Now put that bass in a room with Tate Peterson and Micah Kassell, two killer players who know exactly how to listen, react and take the music somewhere unexpected. This isn't a huge venue where you'll be watching from 100 feet away. It's Bobby Vega and a monster trio right here in our little neighborhood taproom.

đŸŽ¶ What’s Coming Up at Tomorrow’s Verse

We’ve added a few more things to the calendar, so we wanted to send out a quick update on what’s happening at Tomorrow’s Verse over the next few weeks.

Live music, Music Bingo, trivia, cribbage, Brazilian jazz, sea shanties, a neighborhood potluck — there’s a lot going on as we head through the second half of August.

EVERY WEEK AT TOMORROW’S VERSE

Our weekly bluegrass jam keeps rolling every Tuesday. Pickers of all levels are welcome to join in, or just grab a beer and enjoy the music. No cover.

AUGUST AT TOMORROW’S VERSE

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13 — BOBBY VEGA & FRIENDS

This is a special one.

Bobby Vega is one of those musicians whose rĂ©sumĂ© almost sounds made up. A legendary Bay Area bassist, Bobby has played and recorded with an incredible list of artists, including Sly Stone, Santana, Jefferson Starship, Tower of Power, Etta James and Jerry Garcia. He’s particularly beloved in the funk and jam worlds for his unmistakable pick-style bass playing, huge groove and decades of stories and musical history.

And you get to see him in a room the size of Tomorrow’s Verse.

We want this show to be accessible while also making sure the musicians get paid, so admission is a $5–$20 sliding scale. Pay what works for you. If you can swing $20, fantastic. If $5 gets you in the room, come on in.

Don’t sleep on this one.

---

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 — GALEN CLARK TRIO

Another show we’re extremely excited about.

Portland keyboardist and composer Galen Clark brings his organ trio to Tomorrow’s Verse with Jack Radsliff on guitar and David Hagen on drums.

Galen is best known as the founder and keyboardist of Outer Orbit and Trio Subtonic, and his music lives in that sweet spot where jazz, funk, soul and groove all meet. Put him together with Radsliff and Hagen in our intimate room and this should be an absolutely killer night of music.

$15 advance / $20 day of show

Advance tickets available at youenjoymybeer.com (http://www.youenjoymybeer.com)

---

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 — CLASSIC SIMPSONS TRIVIA | 7 PM

Brush up on your steamed hams, dental plans, monorails, Stonecutters and everything from the golden age of Springfield.

Classic Simpsons Trivia returns with an entire night dedicated to the episodes you’ve watched approximately 700 times.

7 PM | Free to play

---

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22 — DUB ORQUESTRA PLAYS BOB MARLEY

One of our favorite Portland reggae outfits takes on the music of one of the most influential artists of all time.

Dub Orquestra plays Bob Marley — an evening of deep grooves, dub, reggae and classic Marley tunes in the intimate confines of Tomorrow’s Verse.

$15 advance / $20 day of show

Advance tickets available at youenjoymybeer.com (http://www.youenjoymybeer.com)

SUNDAY, AUGUST 23 — BRAZILIAN RODA DE CHORO (Brazilian Jazz)
2:30 PM

One of the coolest afternoons we host each month.

A roda de choro is a traditional Brazilian musical gathering where musicians sit together in a circle and play choro — an instrumental Brazilian style that blends incredible musicianship with the loose, communal feel of a jam session.

Our monthly gathering is hosted by Tim Connell on mandolin and Sean Watson on 7-string guitar, joined by a rotating group of fantastic local musicians.

You don’t need to know anything about Brazilian music to enjoy it. Grab a beer, settle in and experience something a little different on a Sunday afternoon.

2:30 PM | No cover

---

THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 — SEA SHANTY SING ALONG | 7 PM

You know the deal.

Songs of sailors, storms, drinking, questionable decisions and occasionally returning home alive.

Grab a pint, grab a lyric sheet and sing along. Musical ability is entirely optional. Enthusiasm helps.

7 PM | No cover

---

SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 — SUMMER’S NOT DEAD YET POTLUCK | 3 PM

The calendar may be trying to tell us summer is winding down.

We refuse to accept that.

So we’re throwing a Summer’s Not Dead Yet Potluck on Sunday afternoon.

Bring a favorite summer dish to share — BBQ, salads, dips, chips, fruit, desserts, picnic food, something from the garden, your aunt’s mysterious casserole... whatever says *summer* to you.

Nothing fancy and no competition. Just a neighborhood potluck, cold drinks and an excuse to hang out together and squeeze a little more life out of summer.

Bring a dish if you can. If you can't, come hang out anyway.

Sunday, August 30 | 3 PM

SEE YOU AT TOMORROW’S VERSE

That’s the latest — and knowing us, we’ll probably add something else before the month is over.

Thanks, as always, for supporting live music, weird little community events and your neighborhood taproom. Whether you’re coming in to hear a legendary bass player, sing a sea shanty, peg a 24 hand, argue about a Simpsons episode or just have a beer at the bar, we’re glad you’re here.

đŸŽ¶ **MUSIC BINGO: ONE HIT WONDERS & GUILTY PLEASURES** đŸŽ¶

This Wednesday, we’re celebrating the songs you forgot you loved
and the ones you’ve been pretending you don’t. 😏

It’s **One Hit Wonders & Guilty Pleasures** night at Tomorrow’s Verse! Expect a gloriously questionable mix of flash-in-the-pan hits, cheesy sing-alongs, forgotten gems, and songs that will have the entire bar yelling, **“OH MY GOD, I LOVE THIS SONG!”**

Think songs you haven’t heard in 15 years, artists who disappeared after one gigantic hit, and those tracks you absolutely crank in the car when nobody else is around.

🎧 **Two different rounds**
🏆 **Multiple prizes**
đŸŽ¶ **Free to play with purchase each round**
đŸș Singing along is strongly encouraged. Musical shame is not.
