Sadly Glen Hansard was killed in a motorcycle accident overnight in Dublin, Ireland.
He left school at 13 and began busking in Dublin to earn money. He got his big break in the movie The Commitments (personal favorite) and then went on to win an Oscar for his song “Falling Slowly” from the movie Once.
He hosted “The Big Busk” in Grafton Street every Christmas Eve with other local musicians including Bono, Imelda May and Sinead O’Connor, to raise money for the Simon Community.
