📢 A Little Update from Maggie's Mexican Food! 🌮❤️
First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, congratulations, and kind messages after announcing that we purchased our restaurant building. It has truly been one of the happiest moments of my life! 🏡🔑🎉
I wanted to clear up a little confusion. 😊
We are still serving all of your favorite meals at the American Legion! We will continue operating there while we prepare our new building for its next chapter.
There's a lot of work to do before we can move, and I promise I'll keep everyone updated every step of the way. When it's finally time to open the doors to our new home, you'll be the first to know... and of course, we're going to celebrate together! 🎊
Until then, you'll find us right where we've been, serving the same homemade family recipes with the same love and care.

Today, a dream that has been years in the making became a reality.

A few years ago, I walked away from the restaurant I had poured my heart into.
I lost everything and didn't know what the future would hold.
I remember making a heartbreaking post announcing that we had to close our doors.
But something incredible happened.
Our community refused to let my dream end.
Just two weeks later, the American Legion opened their doors and gave Maggie's Mexican Food a second chance. That act of kindness changed my life, and I will always be grateful for the love and support they showed me. 🙏

Today, with tears of gratitude and a full heart, I can finally say...
I'm officially the owner of my restaurant building! 🏡🔑🎉

This isn't just the purchase of a building.
It's a reminder that setbacks don't have to be the end of your story.
It's proof that dreams are worth fighting for.
It's proof that kindness comes back around.
And it's proof that no matter how many times life knocks you down, you can get back up again.

❤️ Today, my heart is full of gratitude. ❤️

I am incredibly honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Literacy and Beyond (2GEN Learning Center).

As I sat through my board orientation , I couldn't help but think about a little girl who missed her elementary school graduation because her family couldn't afford the required uniform.

Thirty years later, I earned my GED through Literacy and Beyond.

Education has the power to transform lives, and I know that firsthand.

It is a privilege to stand alongside an organization that believes in second chances, encourages lifelong learning, and helps people discover that it's never too late to pursue their dreams.

Today, I have the incredible privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of the very organization that helped change my life.

It is an honor to advocate for the women and families in our community and to encourage others to believe that it's never too late to learn, grow, or chase your dreams.

Thank you to Literacy and Beyond for believing in me and for trusting me with this opportunity.
I promise to continue using my voice to encourage others, just as so many people encouraged me.

❤️ It's so good to be back! ❤️

After an amazing week with our family in Mexico, it has been such a joy to see so many familiar, smiling faces back at Maggie's Mexican Food . We truly missed you, and your warm welcome means more than you know. Thank you for making us feel right at home.

Today is Saturday, and while most people are enjoying a day off, we're making our usual trip to Detroit to pick up fresh supplies for next week's menu. ( it's going to be amazingly delicious 😋)

Some might call it work... we call it chasing our dreams. ❤️🙏💪

Dreamers don't really have days off, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Every mile, every early morning, and every long day is worth it when we get to serve this amazing community.
