⚓🚢 TITANIC NIGHT RECAP 🚢⚓

Our 2026 Couples 9-Hole Golf Series got underway Friday night with **Titanic Night**, the first event in this year's **Shipwrecks & Air Disasters** theme.

Seventy-two golfers filled the field, with many embracing the theme—including **Gary & Pam Shattuck**, who fully committed by dressing as icebergs! 🧊

Teams competed in our **"Ship Is Sinking" Progressive Scramble**, where the challenges increased throughout the round until teams were left trying to survive Hole #9 with only one club (plus a putter) salvaged from the wreckage.

When all was said and done, **Kurt & Sue Fisk** and **Seth Birkholz & Courtney Fisk** claimed victory with a score of **31**, edging out **Gary & Pam Shattuck** and **Kyle & Hallie Bahnick** by just one stroke.

The runner-up team nearly pulled off the comeback after successfully earning a one-stroke bonus during the **Lifeboat Putting Challenge**, but it wasn't quite enough.

Other highlights included:
✈️ Frank Bisconti & Wendi Kuhnen winning the **"I'm Flying!" Long Drive Contests**
👑 Ken Kuhnen & Julie Culvey winning the **"King of the World!" Long Putt Contests**
💎 Doug Shumaker & Diane Ironside winning the **"Jack & Rose" Closest-to-the-Pin Contests**

The winning team is pictured holding the life preservers that every golfer had to wear while teeing off on Hole #1—making Frank and Wendi's long drives even more impressive!

Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the first event of the season a huge success.

Another great turnout for our second Spring Senior Scramble of the season on Monday, May 18th! ⛳️

A talented team of Timber Pointe members — Mike Kwon, Paul Thompson, Mike Grantham, and Mark Christesen — captured the victory with a four-person scramble score of 60. However, it took a scorecard playoff to determine the champions after the team of Keith Avery, Mike Sullivan, Craig Feldt, and Tom Anthony also posted a 60. The deciding factor came on Hole 17, where the winning team carded a birdie while the runners-up made par.

Contest winners included Hui Chong Dofflemeyer and Greg George, who earned Closest to the Pin honors on Holes 5 and 16, respectively, while Mike Sullivan claimed the Longest Drive prize on Hole 18.

Despite the threat of thunderstorms and a few passing showers throughout the morning, we still had an outstanding turnout of 101 golfers enjoying this fun and unique format. One of the highlights of the Senior Scramble is the age-based tee system, which allows players to move up to closer tee boxes as they get older — making for a competitive and enjoyable day for everyone involved.

What a fantastic weekend at our Men’s Scramble & Best Ball Tournament (May 2–3)! ⛳️

Congratulations to our champions — Dave Huffman, Gary Shattuck, Kent Kniep, and Carl Dirks/Tony McIntire — who fired a two-day total of 194 to claim victory by 4 strokes over the team of Dave Joslyn, Steve Joslyn, Matt Joslyn, and Grady Engle.

The winning team started Saturday with a scramble score of 64, sitting 6 shots back of the early leaders (Tom Henry, Will Schmidt, Matt Smith, and Nick Guth). But they came out swinging on Sunday, going 14-under-par in the 2 low net best ball format to surge into first place.

Big moments from Day 2 included Dave Huffman and Gary Shattuck both making natural birdies (net eagles!) on Hole 11, while Kent Kniep played a key role as well — especially on the par 3s, finishing them at 1-under.

Mother Nature had other plans, but that didn’t stop a great day of golf and fun at our Spring Customer Appreciation Outing! We were able to get 9 holes in before rain and thunderstorms rolled through—but not before some incredible play.
