With this slightly cooler weather today (it’s only 82° not 97°), I’m getting into my Fall Era. Cooler temperatures and less humidity call for one of my favorite flavors: PUMPKIN.

Last bake of the week….

Gluten Free & Dairy Free birthday cakes for a 6-year-old rockstar!

This little boy in Shearwater had his 6th birthday party with family and friends. When his mama called me and said “hey I know it’s last-minute, but could you do his cake? And some cupcakes?”

How do you say no for an awesome little kid? Especially one who loves rock n’ roll and whose favorite band is AC/DC?

Two cakes and Two Dozen cupcakes:
Cake 1: GF/DF Vanilla Cake filled and covered with chocolate DF buttercream, and decoration made with cookie icing and glitter gel, freehand in AC/DC font.

Cake 2: GF/DF Vanilla cake filled with chocolate DF buttercream, covered in chocolate “mock ganache” (made from Enjoy Life Allergen-Free chocolate and sunflower oil.) Decoration made with cookie icing, and dusted in gunmetal silver sanding sugar crystals.

Cupcakes: GF/DF Vanilla cake topped with Vanilla DF frosting, decorated with plastic guitar picks.

**The AC/DC font is called Squealer, just in case you wanted to know.**

I am extremely happy and my heart is full from this week’s cakes and bakes. Now time to rest my feet and back, and jump into Back To School items!

I had a lot of fun making this cake! I am venturing more into edible paint and edible markers. This was really fun to splatter paint this chocolate ganache cake with gold edible paint. Happy 40th birthday to this customer!

This is your reminder that we are only human.

THIS is how I set up my KitchenAid today to mix the batter for a cake.

It took me 30 seconds of staring at it, wondering why the batter wasn’t mixing, to figure it out. 🫣

Not sure if it’s the weather, the GF flour, or copious amounts of butter I’ve been baking with.
