Ana's current coffee order is the Toasted Marshmallow Cold Brew. Her work style?

Pure energy.

She spots a problem before it even happens, gets the drive-thru moving fast, and has everything running smoothly. Direct, efficient, and always in the middle of the action.

Julianna's is the S’mores Frosted Coffee. Her work style?

The calm in the storm.

She’s helping the newest Team Member through their first lunch rush, making sure people are actually having fun, and keeping a positive attitude when it gets super busy.

Patient, friendly, and keeps everyone grounded.

Two totally different approaches. Both of them crush it every shift.

Every single block was for someone else.

If you’re anything like most leaders I talk to, you handle the team, put out the fires, check off the list, and leave yourself with zero percent battery by Friday.

Block out thirty minutes this week.

Eat lunch without staring at your phone, sit in the parking lot with the phone off, take a walk—whatever gives you a second to breathe.

You can't develop anyone else when you're running on empty.

In a lot of restaurants, leadership is an island.

You clock in, run the floor, isolate in the office for an hour to knock out administrative tasks, hand off the keys, and leave.

That’s not how we build leaders.

Recently, that meant gathering around for the Chick-fil-A Support Center live cast from Atlanta: digging into the data behind our Chicken & Waffles test, prepping our systems for new menu items coming out, and problem-solving operational friction points across our restaurant.

Most training programs stop the second someone becomes proficient at their job without having to ask questions.

We don’t do that here.

Orientation 2.0 is paid time off the floor with zero operational distractions.

No taking orders, no lunch rush, and no drive-thru lines to manage. Just dedicated time where we go deeper on our core values, our personal purpose, and what each person on our team is actually trying to accomplish in their life.

A little girl came in with her family recently and left having made her own Icedream cone.

She wasn't tall enough to see over the machine. One of our Team Members kept a hand on it the whole time — close enough to help, far enough that she did it herself. She walked out holding something she made.

Another day, Jerrod walked a boy behind the counter. The register. The ice machine. All of it.

And a family came in for dinner, and a Team Member offered to take the picture so nobody had to be the one holding the phone.

None of that is on a task list. There's no step in any manual about letting a kid pull the Icedream lever, and no line on a checklist about offering to take a photo. Those things happen because people here know what this place is for.

We exist to change lives by creating unforgettable memories for every Team Member and every Guest.

Read that the first time and you hear a promise to Guests. It's both, and we meant it that way.

That little girl is going to tell her friends at school, and grandma, and her teachers.

The Team Member standing there with his hand on the machine got something too — he got to watch her see it for the first time.

Steve had one restaurant job before this one. He bussed tables at an Italian place in high school, and then he didn't work in a restaurant for fifteen years.

He'd been leading people that whole time. He helped start something at twenty-one and ran it for ten years — sixty people across two teams by the end. He read a leadership book every month he was there.

He and Efraim had been friends for years before any of this. Dinner once a month, families together. So when Efraim needed leadership, he already knew what Steve could do.

Here's the part you don't see now. His drive went from fifteen minutes to an hour. His feet hurt so much the first week that he went out and bought insoles. He spent nine months learning every position in this building before any of it felt like his.

He runs both restaurants now.

Nobody starts nursing school planning to work here through it.

Sarah applied on Indeed in July 2022 because she had morning classes at Broward College and needed a job she could work at night. That was the whole reason she applied.

Little did she know she'd stay three years, become a Team Leader, and get through her entire nursing degree while she was here.

Somewhere in those three years, this stopped being the job she kept for the hours. Sarah learned how to give feedback and how to take it. She learned to say a Guest's name with confidence, like she already knew them. That was the hardest thing anyone ever asked her to do here.

She got so good at it that a Guest came back through the drive-thru just to tell her what it meant to him.

So when she graduated and started applying for nursing jobs, she got an offer and said no.

The Sarah who walked in three years ago probably would have taken that first offer. But she wasn't that person anymore.

Her standard for taking care of people had gone up.

The role would have had her caring for more patients than she could give real attention to, and she wasn't willing to compromise. So she kept working here and waited until the right one came.

Pompano Beach, Sarah's time with us has come to an end, and she's off to be a nurse. We're proud of who she's become.

We exist to change lives by creating unforgettable memories for every Team Member and every Guest. Sarah is what our purpose looks like beyond our four walls.

She'll be caring for patients now, and a piece of what she learned here goes with her into every room she walks into and every patient under her care. ❤️
