New Seafood Restaurant Bringing Cajun Boils With a Thai Twist to Pompano Beach
By Pompano Beach, Fl. Official LLC | October 9, 2026
Pompano Beach is getting another new restaurant — and this one is bringing together New Orleans-style seafood boils and the flavors of Thailand.
RimLay Seafood is preparing to open at 3428 E. Atlantic Blvd., with owner Laddawan “Tammy” Boon-long targeting an early December opening, according to What Now Miami.
The restaurant's name has a personal connection. Boon-long is originally from Thailand, and “RimLay” refers to a place by the beach — fitting for a restaurant opening just minutes from Pompano's shoreline.
Cajun Seafood With Thai Flavor
The centerpiece will be a traditional-style seafood boil, but with a distinctive twist.
Instead of relying solely on familiar Cajun seasoning, RimLay plans to combine Cajun butter, chili, garlic and spices with Thai herbs, creating a seafood boil influenced by both Louisiana and Thai cooking.
The approximately 2,300-square-foot restaurant will seat about 80 people, split between 40 indoor and 40 outdoor seats.
Boon-long said the location's proximity to the beach and pedestrian traffic helped convince her it was the right place.
From Retirement to a New Pompano Restaurant
Boon-long previously operated a seafood-boil restaurant in the Washington, D.C., area beginning in 2018. After that restaurant closed during the pandemic, she and her husband moved to Florida with plans to retire.
But after settling in Pompano Beach and repeatedly seeing the vacant Atlantic Boulevard restaurant space, she approached the landlord with her idea.
Now, she's getting ready to return to the restaurant business.
RimLay Seafood is aiming for an early December opening — giving Pompano Beach residents another locally operated dining option just steps from the beach.
Welcome to Pompano Beach, RimLay
