Hello all! I cannot believe it has been so long since we have posted here on Facebook. When we closed the River Market, we were constantly asked what John and I were doing next. We were fortunate enough to take time off and pursue new interests. We took our dog, Bodhi, to train with Full Service Canine during the pandemic. What a wonderful experience we had. John found the training to be incredibly rewarding and asked if he could “apprentice” with their company. John dedicated a year to learning the ropes of dog training with all sorts of dog breeds and behaviors. Full Service Canine has now asked John to join their expert team of owner, Mike Lucchesi, Senior Trainer Eddie, and Trainer Kim who have combined over 30 years in dog training, including police and military dogs. Mike and his team are now offering one-on-one training in your home here at the Jersey Shore. John’s primary focus will be on the Shore Dogs. Full Service Canine believes that every dog should train to be a confident, well-behaved member of your family. Whether it is on or off leash we have you covered.

14 years or so. The River Market. That’s a wrap. A job well done. We left on top. Covid-19 has nothing on us. John and I can’t wait to see what is next for us. Hard work and passion. Thank you for all your support!

For those of you who have not heard. The River Market’s old space in Toms River has been transformed into the Battle River Brewer. The space looks amazing and we hear the beer is amazing. Can’t wait to go and see all the changes and try the beer!!

Hello friends! Hope you are all enjoying these last few weeks of summer. We are settling all our affairs at The River Market and are exploring future adventures. We are working with the owners of our building, River Shores LLC and Hollston Realty to seek out new tenants for this amazing building in Point Pleasant Beach. They are formulating plans to renovate and retrofit this place in amazing ways. The restaurant is turn key and ready to operate. To all our friends and family of The River Market:

A Heartfelt Thank You to everyone who has appreciated and taken part in driving our passion and creativity with food for the past 15 years. This includes our amazing and loyal staff, whom most of you have come to know by name, as they have consistently gone above and beyond to help us realize our vision of The River Market. As our lease comes up for renewal, we have decided to close this chapter in our lives. We have loved serving you and will miss seeing so many of your friendly faces on a regular basis. We loved being part of downtown Point Pleasant Beach for the past six years and will miss our “Vermont meets the Beach” atmosphere of our dining room. To our friends in Toms River thank you for believing in us and putting us on our way as we couldn’t have done it without you. We will be off to new and exciting culinary adventures and will keep you informed as we figure them out.

The River Market is still not open. For all those restaurants who have stocked up their walk-ins, ordered perishable products, they will really be hurting come Thursday as indoor dining has been taken off the table. Literally. So support your local places. Order take out, dine outside. (My advice —ask how far apart their outdoor seating is when you call and make a reservation.) Make owners know you are paying attention. And wear a mask until you are at your table and have ordered your meal. Protect yourself and the servers out there.

Hello friends we miss you !! Our produce company that we have used for years is now taking orders and delivering to residents. Call or go to their website to get a product list.
