Here's the update on the exciting news about my sister Connie, the maker of our PeConnie's.

After years of being together, she and Chris were married in Las Vegas on Tuesday and we were honored to tag a long to share their special day.
The past 58 hours have been packed with fine dining, sight-seeing, and memory making.......seriously, we give them five stars for being the best tour guides & hosts. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another beautiful October Sunday and the leaves on the square are just starting to change colors. 🍁🍂🍁

Gooey butter, peanut coffee, angel food cakes both plain & iced, and fall shaped sugar cookies will help you wind down from the weekend or start the new week deliciously.......sharing is caring. 😉

Fresh Amish chocolates and caramels have arrived and as always try a sample.....it's our secret plan to have you want them at home. 🙃

Things you may not know you want: pickled vegetables & eggs and crazy fun flowers pots.......we have them all.

And Sundays & icecream go together like peas & carrots and there's eight flavors from Marcoot always available in cones, cups, or floats in the dipping room. 🥰

It's Saturday, the most delicious day of the weekend. 🥰

The cases are bursting with croissants, cinnamon rolls, fall cookies, Halloween macarons, and so much more......it's officially snacking season. And if you missed them last week, those croissants with fruit are here again.....you really have to try one.😉

On the mercantile side there's new fall sweatshirts in styles and sizes sure to please everyone.
For gooey butter lovers we have Ann & Allen Gooey Butter Cake mixes made locally in St. Louis.....the home of gooey butter. 😉
There's also varieties of cookies and dessert bread mixes with instructions so easy to follow anyone with an oven and a sweet tooth can master. Adorable cutting mats, cookie cutters, and Robyn's scrubbies will add even more fun and we always like to add that EVERYTHING inside the store is proudly made in the USA.....even the cookie cutters. 🇺🇸

And for witches looking for new brooms or poisoned apples, we have you covered, too. 🧙‍♀️

I can't believe I forgot to mention the 8th anniversary of opening the mercantile last month......I'm also going to admit I thought our first day open was September 18th for some reason. 😳

As you can tell from the 2018 photos the mercantile has grown, and grown, and grown far beyond our wildest dreams and there's no plans in our future slow down.

Even though we didn't really have an idea of what we were doing years ago, the store had it's own faded blueprint just waiting to come to life again......and we could honestly see and feel it.

The charm of the mercantile is a balanced mix of wonderful local made artisan goods, vintage & antique finds, unique gourmet items that feel like they belong in a 1930s general store, and an old building still full of history and stories that we happily share with anyone who will listen. 🥰

There's always something new, interesting, adorable, or delicious when you walk through the door.

It's Sunday and it's going to be another beautiful fall day. 🍁🍂🍁

The cases and cabinet are loaded up again and there's definitely something for everyone.

There's a nice variety of soups always available and the Wind & Willow soups for one are perfect for work lunches.....pair it with a croissant and you'll be the talk of the lunchroom. 😉

Halloween Swede Dishcloths are a fun way to jazz up the kitchen sink and let us be the first to tell you that paper placemats are making a comeback. You'll be so surprised at how easy a piece of paper can make an ordinary meal a little extraordinary.....what until you see the ones we have for Christmas. 😊

The three flavors in the cappuccino machine are Chai Tea, Caramel Macchiato, and Hot Chocolate and all are delightful for sipping on cool mornings.

And today is Don's birthday and when I asked him to stop for a picture and he said he'd send me one he'd rather use.....so here's both. Don in the late 1980s and Don today in 2026. The 80s...I think a good time was had by all back then. 🥰 🥳

It's a beautiful first Saturday in October and the most delicious day of the weekend. 😉

So many delightful items are in the cases and to make decisions just a little tougher we've added fruit croissant danish to the mix......the cheese is my second favorite right after almond croissants. 🥰
Croughnuts, cinnamon rolls, donuts, macarons, and more are ready & waiting.

On the mercantile side, Kalene added more adorable owls, Sue has another round of fun primitive inspired Halloween guys, and Robyn has even more brooms to choose from to complete you witch costumes......big decisions will have to he made throughout the entire store. 🍁🍂🍁

It's Sunday, and we're all about fall at the mercantile both inside and outside. 🍁🍂🍁

There's more of everything in the cases and cabinet today and as we like to say "pick up something to share with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers"......everyone enjoys a sweet surprise. 🥰

On the mercantile side you'll definitely want to admire Kaylene's wool pumpkins, crocheted cats & primitive crows by Sue, fall flags made in USA, and there's even a fun goose by Sue.....you never know what she's working on. 😁

And for this week's forecast you'll need tshirts & sweatshirts and we have you covered with a variety of both. 😉
