August’s Mesa Para Doce gave us another evening we won’t soon forget. ❤️
A huge thank you to Mezcaluna Mexican Cuisine & Lounge Eugene for welcoming us into such a beautiful space and treating us to an incredible meal as we gathered around the table to talk about:
How do you stay connected to your culture while navigating professional spaces?
The answers were thoughtful, honest, and beautifully different.
We talked about what it means to move through spaces where our culture may not always be reflected, the moments when we’ve felt pressure to make ourselves smaller, and the power of seeing someone else show up fully and unapologetically as themselves.
Sometimes staying connected looks like food, music, language, and traditions. Sometimes it looks like creating spaces where you don’t have to explain who you are at all.
And that may be one of our favorite things about Mesa Para Doce. 💛
It’s becoming a little safe haven for culture, connection, laughter, and relationships that continue long after dinner is over.
