Admittedly, our Father’s Day items never really sell well.
The past few years, I made colorful necktie chocolates with different fillings. I made chocolate tools in a little toolbox.
I’ve made chocolate covered Oreos with sugar printed “Happy Father’s Day!” And “I love dad!” We make maple bourbon donuts and millionaire bacon.

And Ive made mowed-lawn cupcakes that I thought were so dang clever and only sold 2. Fortunately, that year, we had a soccer party to go to and they fit in well with the theme.

I wondered if I just wasn’t hitting the nail on the head. Were they too cliché? Not cliché enough?

Then recently, I sat at an awards ceremony and watched student after student thank their mom. About 30 minutes in I started tracking it.
(Look. I get it. Not everyone has a good relationship with their dad. But the same could be said for moms or any other family relationship.)

All I’m saying is, if you do have a good relationship with your dad, don’t forget to thank him too. Have the kids make him the slightly less-than-appetizing breakfast in bed. After he’s taken three bites, patted his belly and said “ooof, I’m full.”, Stop by the bakery and snag a few of these adorable mowed-lawn cupcakes. Because I know that nothing makes my own husband or my dad happier than a freshly mowed lawn.
Because I made a lot. We don’t have a soccer party this year, and I don’t know SB Mowing well enough to show up at his door and hand him a bunch of cupcakes.

We’ve had a great day! There’s still a bit left!

Browned butter potato chip rice krispie treats are chewy and full of flavor! Gluten friendly (no malt in the rice krispies!) and festive!

We also have flourless peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, root beer float donuts, key lime pie donuts, etc etc etc etc.

It’s a beautiful day! Happy Juneteenth!

Normally we are closed the first week or two of July. But because this year is SO special, we are staying OPEN the first week July to celebrate 250 years of America!
Plattsburg is putting on a giant celebration Saturday afternoon and evening! We’ll be open at 8 am with all kinds of fun treats, coffee and breakfast to kick off the birthday party of the !!

Predicting business in a small town (especially during the summer) is on par with predicting the weather in Missouri.

We are currently sold out! I’m locking up to catch up on dishes and make some desserts. If I’m able to open up for the afternoon, I will be posting an update.

Thank you all for being flexible and cheerful when our case is nearly empty! Sgt. Bread was going to be my wingman this morning but he had to do extra shifts for his real job.

We’ve also indulged in a reel from official_drew_cooks and made Nutella brownie bites. These amazing fudgey brownies are made with 3 ingredients- nutella, eggs, and flour. Packed with chocolate hazelnut flavor.

Have you tried our Lavender Lemonade yet?

We use lavender from my parent’s farm just west of Smithville. Hand-picked, dried and separated from the stem. We steep rhe buds in hot water and make a concentrated “tea”.

We juice the lemons ourselves, mix with our simple syrup, and add the lavender tea. The reaction from the lemon and the lavender create a beautiful natural pink color.

It’s our favorite summertime drink!
