Smoke on the Water Placerville CA Please come and join us for some delicious bites. Kirk Bronsord – Hello everyone, this is Chef Kirk your new face at the Diner now called Smoke on the Water.

We are bringing a new look and style to the community. I have 19 years of experience operating a BBQ catering company and am bringing my knowledge and passion to the local diner. We hope what we bring will have you join us for great food and atmosphere. Matt Ridgeway – Chef Matt grew up in the Bay Area where he was exposed to a wide variety of people and food that would set him on a path to a long

career in the restaurant industry. He developed an interest in food at a young age and over the years, he built his skillset and continued to explore many of the different culinary delights the Bay Area had to offer. Eventually, Chef Matt would begin working with the Dona Tomas restaurant group and focus on regional Mexican cuisine. In the years that followed, he would continue to expand his knowledge of the industry and participate in opening multiple successful Mexican restaurants in Oakland and Berkeley. These included Dona Tomas, Tacubaya, and Xolo. Eventually, Chef Matt was offered an opportunity to branch out and open a new restaurant in Sacramento. In 2016 he made the move and opened Oakhaus. Oakhaus was a deviation from Mexican food. It was a unique modern version of the classic Hof Brau. It proved to be a delicious adventure but after a few years, he was recruited by another restaurant group and returned to Mexican cuisine. Chef Matt then opened Polanco Cantina. Polanco was an exceptional Mexican food experience in the heart of downtown Sacramento. After building a successful menu and team at Polanco, Chef Matt partnered with Purple Pig Eats and opened another small eatery in the Oak Park Area of Sacramento. For the last 3 years, Purple Pig Eats has brought casually delicious house-made food to the Oak Park community. Now Chef Matt is joining forces with local BBQ master Kirk Bronsord to create a fun, fresh, and inviting dining experience in the Finnon Lake Recreation Area. Chef Matt says he is very excited and honored to be able to bring delicious food to this amazing community.

Easter weekend is almost here, and we’re excited to celebrate with you!
We’ll be open on Saturday, April 4th, serving our full lunch menu straight through dinner—so come hungry and bring your favorite people along.

Don’t forget to hop on over to the Easter Egg Hunt with your kiddos, 10:30over at Finnon , then swing by the diner for a delicious bite afterward. It’s the perfect way to make the day extra special.
