Next Wednesday, September 23rd, is the next installment of our Pittsburgh History series. This one is about Charles "Teenie" Harris. Teenie was one of the most influential and prolific photographers of black life and culture in Pittsburgh in the 1930s and beyond. His photos helped to make the Pittsburgh Courier one of the most popular and respected newspapers in the country. His archives can now be found at the Carnegie Museum of Art and his work gains new fans and respect each day. This event is proving to be popular with over 50 people signed up thus far. Please consider attending.
What's a club without members? We don't want to find out. That's why we're having another membership open house on Thursday, September 24th. We invite folks in who are considering social club membership to check the place out. It's always helpful to have current members here who can extol the virtues of membership, so please consider joining us!
The Pittsburgh Business Club's next seminar titled "When Are Robots Necessary?" is happening on Tuesday, September 29th. If you ask a robot, they'll tell you "we're always justified." Instead, come hear the CEO of SKA Robotics talk about the subject.
Friday, October 2nd is our next First Friday event. There will be cocktails and networking. Come on out and enjoy that sliver of Pittsburgh weather that's not too hot and humid and not bitterly cold.
Not to be outdone that night, we have another night of improv comedy happening here at the club on October 2nd. If you like to laugh, prove it and come out to see the show. Tickets are FREE for club members. C'mon, you know you'll enjoy it!
Our popular Make-Your-Own-Cocktails event is happening again on Friday, October 9th. Join our bartender Matthew as he helps you craft three perfect for the fall cocktails. The best part is, of course, you get to drink your creations.
Like a little murder mystery with your dinner? Then you're in luck when our murder mystery dinner theater makes its return to the club on Friday, October 9th. The theme this time is Robin Hood, and I'm guessing he was up to no good.
We're trying something a little different with a jazz show the afternoon of Saturday, October 10th. It's happening 4-6pm and features local vocalist Jessica Lee. You can hear a sample of her singing here. She's great, right?!
Also happening that evening here at the club will be our Salsa Night. No, not the delicious chip accompaniment, but the dance! On Saturday, October 10th you can join us for a salsa lesson and then dancing on our second floor. It should be a great time! And, as I promised previously, I will not dance so as not to intimidate newbies and veteran salsa dancers alike. The price for AHYP members is FREE ($0). So, come on down and dance!
This is getting long (so many activities!) so I'll just list a few other events coming down the pike:

Friday, October 16th - Lean to Make Pierogies.
Saturday, December 5th - A 1950's Christmas / Holiday Party - Tickets here. Note, this is not the club's annual Christmas dinner. We'll pick a date for that event soon.
