Hello Everyone,

Here are some events coming up in the very, and not so very, near future here at the venerable AHYP Club. Information on all of these events and more can be found here: https://www.alleghenyhypclub.com/membership1-1

Wednesday, June 10th sees the Pittsburgh Committee on Foreign Relations return with a presentation on "The Accelerating Integration of AI into Foreign Affairs."

You know what AI can't do? It can't enjoy some sake & sushi the way you can! I have a 少し, that's Japanese for "few", spots left for the sake and sushi tasting event that's happening this Friday night the 12th at the club in our library. If you're interested, let me know ASAP [email protected]

The newly formed Pittsburgh Business Club, began by two of your fellow AHYP Club members, is having their second presentation which will be held on Thursday, June 18th. It's titled "Purpose Driven Real Estate Investing" and features speaker CM Kennedy.

More into the arts than real estate? We've got you covered with our latest Pittsburgh History Series presentation on Thursday, June 25th. The subject is Pittsburgh's own Andy Warhol. Andy's nephew Donald Warhola will teach us about the man behind the public persona. Donald worked with his uncle for a bit in the eighties and has a keen understanding of the man.

Once we get into July we have our usual First Friday and Cocktails night on the 3rd.

Other July happenings include the return of the always fun Make-Your-Own-Cocktail night on Friday, July 10th. On Thursday, July 9th, we have Painting with a Twist happening here at the club. Come have a few drinks and create, with some sage advice from an expert, your own masterpiece! We provide everything you'll need for the occasion.

Friend of the club, Anne Billiet Lackner, is having an event on Tuesday, July 21st on free speech and expression. Note, that this event is not at the AHYP Club but at Alphabet City at 40 W. North Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Jumping way ahead, in August, we're having a big party with LIVE music in honor of Pittsburgh's own Gene Kelly. Susan Leslie and The Jazz Trio will be playing period-appropriate music and we'll have plenty of decorations in honor of Mr. Kelly's most famous work, Singin' in the Rain! August will be here before you know it and make your plans now to join us for what will be a very fun, entertaining evening!

Ok, so that's a sampling of what's coming up here at the AHYP Club. If you have questions about anything, get in touch with me. Hopefully we see you out here for a few of these happenings.

All the best,

Dave

Hello All,

First, we have the next installment of our Pittsburgh History series of presentations. It's tomorrow night and the focus is on the Frick Museum. Amanda Gillen, Executive Director of The Frick Pittsburgh, traces the history of the museum from its early days as the home of industrialist and art collector Henry Clay Frick and his family to its current role as one of the city’s premiere cultural institutions. While the story of the Frick family is central to the museum’s identity, it has evolved over the years into a place to see high-quality art exhibitions, enjoy the landscape of its 10-acre campus, and explore the history of Gilded Age Pittsburgh.

This Saturday the 23rd we have LIVE COMEDY happening at the club. No, I won't be regaling you with stories of my adventures in parenthood. Instead, we'll be having comedy in the form of an improv troupe! Come support this so we can have more of these types of events!

Finally, on Friday, May 29th, we're due to have Tequilas, Tacos and a Cigar. It's what it sounds like. Some really good tequilas, some Mexican food, and a cigar to cap it off. If you're coming, please sign up so I know that we have enough people to pull this thing off.

That's it for now. Come on out!

-Dave
