One of our own is heading to the world stage, and we couldn’t be more proud…

Paulo (), Convive’s roastmaster, is traveling to Panama City this October to compete in the 2026 World Barista Championship (), representing his home country of Guatemala.

In order to qualify for this competition, Paulo first had to compete against Guatemala’s best baristas and win the country’s national championship to earn his place.

Now, he’ll step onto a global stage alongside more than 50 national champions from around the world. Each competitor will have just 15 minutes to prepare four espressos, four milk-based beverages, and four original signature drinks. The challenge is doing all of this while being judged on taste, creativity, technical skill, cleanliness, and presentation.

We get to experience each and every day how much heart Paulo puts into this craft. It’s so cool to see that now getting shared with the world.

The World Barista Championship takes place October 22–25 in Panama City, Panama. We couldn’t be more honored to have Paulo as part of the Convive family, and are so excited to watch him thrive in his element!

There’s a whole lot of science behind something that feels this simple.

Temperature. Time. Grind size. Water. Roast. Extraction. It all matters.

Change one little thing and the same coffee can taste completely different.

And that’s the part we love. We obsess over the details. Getting it dialed in, meticulously tasting it, adjusting it, and enjoying the chase of that sweet spot where all those little variables come together.

This is a love language for us, and that’s why we can say it’s a good cup ☕️💚
