🍺🏆 PITTSBURGH SHOWED UP AT B**R & SWEAT! 🏆🍺

Pittsburgh homebrewers representing TRASH, Three Rivers Underground Brewers (TRUB) & WAZE — including a strong showing from the TRASH Pirates 🏴‍☠️ — made the trip to Cincinnati for the 38th Annual B**r & Sweat and brought home some serious hardware!

If you’ve never been to B**r & Sweat, this isn’t your typical homebrew competition. It’s keg only! 🍺 B**rs are first put through a BJCP-judged competition, then the doors open and the event turns into a huge b**r tasting festival featuring all those kegs.

And Pittsburgh had one heck of a showing:

🏆 Mike Beattie — Ordinary Bitter — 🥇 1st Place + 2nd BEST OF SHOW!
🥇 Richard Romanko — This Has to Be Better Than Fred’s — Saison
🥈 Aaron Sams — Catastrophe — Oatmeal Stout
🥈 Chris Radi — Limoncello Spritz Sour — Wild Specialty B**r
🥉 Mike Beattie — Blonde Ale #1
🥉 Fred Mullner — Andy Melchers Molests Goats — Mango Passionfruit C***r
🥉 Mike Petrick & Katrina — Dark Mild

That’s 7 medals + a 2nd Best of Show coming back to Pittsburgh! 🏅🔥

Huge congratulations to all of the winners and everyone who made the trip to brew, pour, judge, taste and represent the Pittsburgh homebrew community.

🏴‍☠️ Now we need an even bigger Pittsburgh crew next year! If you’ve never made the trip to B**r & Sweat, start thinking about what keg you’re bringing in 2027. 🍻

TRASH/TRUB Homebrewers Picnic 2026! Thanks to all the club members new and old for helping us continue the tradition of the summer picnic yesterday at North Park. This year we really stepped up our food game with dozens of pizzas courtesy of , and . even managed to smoke some wings for us on the little park grill.

Congrats to Chris and Scott for defending their titles for the TRASHy and the keg toss competition. Watch out next year though, we're going to make sure a three-peat isn't easy.

🍻 What a Two Weeks for TRASH & TRUB! 🍻

Over the last two weekends, our members have been out in full force representing the clubs at and **rsoftheburgh

A huge thank you to everyone who donated their time, talent, equipment, and b**r to make these events a success. From brewing and transporting kegs to pouring samples and talking homebrew with festival-goers, our members continue to show what makes this community so special.

Yesterday at B**rs of the Burgh, the TRASH & TRUB tent was packed from start to finish. With nearly 2,000 attendees at the festival, we had a steady line all day long, with people coming back again and again to try something new. It was incredible to see so much excitement around homebrewed b**r.

And last weekend at Babesburgh, our members once again stepped up to share their passion for brewing and help showcase the creativity and talent within our clubs.

None of these opportunities happen without members willing to volunteer their weekends, share their b**r, and represent TRASH & TRUB with pride.

Thank you to every brewer, volunteer, organizer, and supporter who helped make these last two weekends such a success. We couldn’t do it without you!

🍺 Cheers to our amazing members! 🍺
