The Temple is buzzing with caffeine and reasons to gather...July through August events at The Wiz:
Sunday 7/12: The Weeping Glass is bringing some weird friends to Allentown and they'll be parked right outside of the temple! The Freak Family Roadshow is a traveling sculptural art installation of a gorilla mother, an alien father and their strange hybrid baby, cruising the backroads of America, trapped in an eternal time loop, confined to a canned-ham-style 1950s era trailer.
The Roadshow will be parked right on the corner of Allen Street and Warrington Ave around the side of Grim Wizard Coffee from 12 until 4pm on Sunday, July 12th. It is absolutely free to come check out the trailer, take photos, and meet the artist!
Friday 7/17: It’s the return of our special baby bat friendly edition of DARK ROOM! 7-11pm!
The sinister forces of Grim Wizard have once again allowed our supplicants to bring our very own flavor of Spooky and Gloomy sounds to the blackened halls of their temple to darkness and caffeination.
So dress to impress, come in for the darkest drinks we can conjure, and join us as we sway, stomp and sip as darkness falls upon the land.
Monday 7/20: From 6pm-8pm we will host Dark Roast Rituals, an MTG gameplay night.
FREE to play, but 1 drink minimum requested. Specialty themed drink menu TBA.
Players can expect a fun, relaxed Magic: The Gathering EDH(Commander) format event. This event is ideal for newbies wanting to learn the basics and ask questions, or for long-time players wanting to have fun & meet new people and want to try out deck changes. We'll have 2 to 3 booths set up for playing near each other, so the host can answer questions and judge rules. Players should bring their own deck and dice, as the host's extras will be limited.
Monday July 27th: The Crypt Book Club: Grim literature at a very grim coffee shop, brought to you by the blood drinking freaks at Death Comes Lifting. Every last Monday of the month!
Sunday 8/2: Dark Roasts & Side Quests: First Sundays of each month from 4-8pm Grim Wizard Coffee will host a unique game play experience in a special after-hours event. The experienced Dungeon Masters of QuestYinz will guide you through an epic adventure with pre-generated characters while the expert baristas of Grim Wizard provide fantasy-themed concoctions to fuel your game table antics.
Choose your Dungeon Master to choose your adventure! Games are primarily Dungeons & Dragons 5e but some storytellers may choose to run a different system, be sure to check the Dungeon Master description when booking your ticket. $20/ticket, limit of 5 players per table.
