A world of mindfully designed pleasures for everyday living. Brought to you by cosmo connected maker duo, WaZeil & UaZit. Devilishly delicious oatmilk LAttes, the infamous "DIRTY(f**king)CHAI” & vegan/gluten-free baked goods… were an after thought.

so excited for the adult giant puppet show at the shop tomorrow evening! It looks like the weather will be delightful so we’ll be out on the patio. $5-$10 sliding scale donation at the door puts gas in Happy Accident’s tank and helps them return home to Portland. See you tomorrow!

fellow weirdos, our next event at stalph is for YOU. An adult puppet show, like nothing you’ve never seen before. I met Happy Accident while they were on tour earlier this year and was stunned with their performance. (You might remember my IG stories of the giant worm?) Traveling all the way from Portland, OR, they’ll be gracing the outdoor stage at stalph on Sept 30 at 7pm. Promise, you won’t wanna miss this wild, wacky, hilarious, mind bending show. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move inside. Sliding scale donation at the door.

“Happy Accident explores the exponential pace of overwhelming absurdity in our world. Found objects, large scale puppets, and sputtering lights bring you face to face with the cuddly nightmare that is everyday life. An anti-clown car driven by master puppeteer Liz HOWLS and co-piloted by musician/unlicensed electrician Servant Baby, this unique production ecstatically careens down the wrong side of the lost highway, leaving a trail of old copies of Weekly World News and Jack in the Box wrappers in its wake. Colorfully reimagining Saturday mornings spent drooling over piles of synthetic material in front of the TV, Happy Accident revels in naked, antipathetic Americana. You will probably laugh, you might cry, and like other designer drugs, you will want more within minutes. Ultimately, you will ask yourself, ‘What kind of culture would produce something like this?’”

lil foot update : still on crutches, sporting this stupid ass air cast. 🙃 This has been the weirdest time of my life. If you missed the memo, two months ago I fractured my heel and my ankle..and i’ve been on a non-weight bearing restriction since. It has tested my patience beyond belief.

My biggest ongoing hurdle are the 1900 built steep af crooked af stairs going up to our apartment. I miss walking and dancing and standing. My right leg is looking super toned though, I feel like strong arm Morty.

I’m still not entirely sure when I’ll be back on both feet but fingers crossed v soon. I had my physical therapy evaluation this week so we’ll be working on range of motion, strength and stretching until I’m released by orthopedics to start bearing weight again. That appointment is Oct 2 🤞 (actually it was supposed to be today and they called to reschedule ugh) then I get to relearn how to walk! Which wasn’t even something that was on my radar. I really thought I’d be released by ortho, tear the boot off, chuck the crutches and be on my merry way. Apparently that’s not how recovery works. Lol Apparently if you don’t walk for two months, you gotta relearn.

Anyways, I’ve always thought I’m just clumsy. I trip or fall often, I knock stuff over, spill stuff, break stuff..all. the. time. What I’ve realized over the last couple months is that I’m not actually clumsy. I have a disconnect between brain and body. My brain is in the clouds and most of the time, I’m not paying attention to what my body is doing. I’ve had to be really mindful of where and what my body is doing at all times right now and that’s new for me. It’s a good unexpected change and lesson learned.

That’s all for now. Maybe by the end of autumn, I’ll be able to take a walk outside again..in BOTH shoes and without crutches.

xoxo,
WaZeil

I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for all the messages and stop-ins asking about my foot injury. 🩷 The care and consideration you all have for my wellbeing is incredibly kind. I am still on crutches for now but I am healing..slowly but surely. I think I’ve finally come to terms with this forced period of rest, despite my strong resistance at first. lol
I have my next follow-up with orthopedics in three weeks to see how the fractures healing and will receive my next steps for care then.
I know our shop has been sporadic with hours/offerings lately but I do appreciate your patience with us.
xoxo,
WaZeil
