Meet our 2026 Mary Jo Del Vero Memorial Scholarship recipient, Griffin Peltier!

Griffin is a graduated senior and valedictorian from Pinckney High School. He was president of ACT2 Theatre Company and participated in concert orchestra, marching band and varsity choir. Griffin began his journey in theatre with The Pinckney Players in Middle School and has acted in numerous community and school productions, including ACT2's recent production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS as Audrey II. He has also been recognized with the Maddy Summer Artist Award for his performance as Mrs. Jennings in Interlochen Arts Camp's production of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. Griffin will be attending Yale University in the Fall to pursue Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies as well as Political Science. He is incredibly grateful for the support of his directors, teachers, family and friends, and to The Muses of Dionysus for this fabulous opportunity.��The 2026 Mary Jo Del Vero Memorial Scholarship is presented by The Muses of Dionysus, and is made possible through the generous support of our family of Dio Donors.

Mary Jo Del Vero was a beloved elementary teacher with the Hartland Consolidated Schools and spent many hours dedicated to high school youth as the Hartland High School Drama Club Sponsor. She mentored many young artists who became successful in careers in the dramatic arts. Mary Jo was well known in the local theatre community for her lively acting and her pure soprano voice and originated the role of Betty Sue Franklin in The Dio's original Christmas musical, HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. She was a constant positive force around the theater, and was a dear friend to Dio co-founders, Steve DeBruyne and Matt Tomich, and President of The Muses of Dionysus, Taylor Epp. Though Mary Jo left us in April of 2020, she is still greatly missed and is considered a founding supporter of The Dio and the theater we've created. We hope to honor her memory and her work with aspiring artists through the Mary Jo Del Vero Memorial Scholarship, presented by The Dio and The Muses of Dionysus, and made possible by our many generous Dio Donors.
