I am so happy to see Thairama restaurant is more than just a place to eat. It’s a place where happiness is shared, love is celebrated, and beautiful memories are made.” ❤️

Tom Rochanakit, who runs Cafe de Bangkok in Gilbert with his wife Amie, takes his Thai meals at the local temple, a Sunday potluck where other restaurant owners cook beside him. He says Valley Thai restaurateurs share resources and act more like a collective than competitors. Thai Rama Phoenix and Chanpen Thai Cuisine run on the same passed-down recipes and local support. 🇹🇭👇

Thai food is one of the world’s most popular cuisines because it combines several flavors in the same dish—especially sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and savory.

🌶️ What makes Thai food special?

Thai cooking often balances four or five major flavors:
• Spicy — chilies, chili pastes, fresh peppers
• Sour — lime juice, tamarind
• Sweet — palm sugar, coconut milk
• Salty/savory — fish sauce, soy sauce, shrimp paste
• Aromatic — lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, garlic

The goal isn’t necessarily to make every dish extremely spicy. Good Thai food is usually about balance

42 Years of Lunch at Thai Rama!

Back in 1984, Thai Rama was already serving a Lunch Special that was delicious, satisfying, yet still affordable. Since the pandemic in 2020, the way we work and the way we eat lunch has changed too. With more people working from home, the traditional lunchtime restaurant culture is not quite what it used to be. But there’s one thing we never changed. We never took our Lunch Special off the menu. Our Lunch Special gives you a little bit of everything in one meal a complete, satisfying lunch without spending too much time or money.

42 years later, we’re still here. Still cooking, still serving, and still making lunch delicious.

Jasmine rice is a fragrant long-grain rice that is mainly grown in Thailand. It has a soft, fluffy texture when cooked and a naturally sweet aroma. Jasmine rice is commonly served with Thai dishes such as curries and stir-fries because it pairs well with many flavors.
