As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
We want to address an issue regarding some of our recently printed pizza boxes.
A printing error resulted in sacred Islamic wording, including Names of Allah, appearing on packaging in a manner that we do not consider appropriate for disposable food packaging. We recognized the concern, addressed it with the manufacturer, and requested corrected boxes. Unfortunately, another shipment arrived containing the same printing issue, leaving us with a substantial quantity of affected boxes.
We want our community to know clearly: this was never our intention, and it does not represent the standards of A PizzA Halaal.
Our commitment to halal goes beyond the ingredients in our food. We strive for compliance with the Qur’an and Sunnah in our conduct, business practices, presentation, and treatment of the Names and symbols of our Deen.
We are currently working through the affected inventory and taking steps to cover/remove the sacred wording before these boxes are used. Because some boxes were distributed before this could be completed, we respectfully ask anyone who received one not to discard the portion containing the sacred wording in the regular trash.
If you have one of these boxes and would prefer not to handle it yourself, please bring it back to A PizzA Halaal and we will take care of it.
We sincerely appreciate the brothers and sisters who brought this matter to our attention and reminded us of its seriousness. Advice given sincerely for the sake of Allah is something we should benefit from, not become defensive about.
We apologize to our Muslim community for the concern this has caused. We are taking corrective action with the manufacturer and reviewing our packaging so, bi’idhnillāh, this does not happen again.
May Allah forgive our shortcomings, accept our efforts to correct what is wrong, and allow A PizzA Halaal to conduct its business in a manner pleasing to Him. Āmīn.
