⚾❤️ The Gooey Looies family made it to the Phillies game! ❤️⚾

A huge thank you to lisciosbakery for treating the Gooey Looies team to an unforgettable Father’s Day experience in the suites at Citizens Bank Park. 🙌

For over 40+ years, Gooey Looies has been built on family, friendships, and amazing partnerships — and it’s relationships like these that remind us why we love what we do.

From the rolls that hold our cheesesteaks and hoagies together… to the people behind them — quality comes from working with the best. 🥖💪

Great food brings people together, and this Father’s Day we got to enjoy being on the other side of that — making memories with our Gooey family.

Thank you again to the Liscio’s family for the hospitality. We appreciate you!

From one father to another — Happy Father’s Day. 💙

Being a father isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, leading by example, protecting, providing, teaching, and loving through every chapter.

The long days, the sacrifices, the worries, and the hard work are all worth it for the little moments and memories we create with our children.

To every dad doing his best every single day — keep going. Your love, your time, and your presence mean more than you’ll ever know.

Happy Father’s Day from my family to yours. 💙

❤️ This is what Gooey Looies has always been about — more than just cheesesteaks, it’s family.

For Father’s Day, we had the chance to help make a special memory for Alex.

Years ago when Alex was in Philly, Gooey Looies cheesesteaks were one of his favorites. His daughter Christina wanted to bring that same Philly tradition back and surprise him with the real thing for their Father’s Day family gathering.

So we packed up the cheesesteaks and hoagies, made the trip out to King of Prussia, and Christina took it from there — driving 5 hours all the way to Beaver County to make sure her dad could enjoy Gooey’s with the whole family. Of course… we had to send him a fresh Gooey Looies shirt too! 💙

Seeing Alex smiling with that shirt and hearing that the entire family loved the food means everything to us. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Thank you Christina for trusting us to be a small part of your Father’s Day celebration. We’re so happy we could help make it happen.

Happy Father’s Day, Alex — welcome back to the Gooey family! 🥩🥖💙

40+ years of memories. Generations of families. Still Bigger & Better.

Please keep the Dio family in your thoughts and prayers.

❤️ Rest Easy, Pat. You will be missed by all of us at Gooey Looies.

Patrick Francis Dio, Jr. 80, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Patrick was a proud Philadelphian whose life was defined by family, friendship, hard work, and loyalty. Affectionately known as "Pat" to his family and friends, and lovingly called "Pop" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around him. He was the father of three children: Kathleen, Stephanie Perez (John), and Patrick (Alicia). He was a loving grandfather to Tara (Roy), Gianna, Ella, Joshua (Gracee), Grayson, Liam, and Harlee, and a proud great-grandfather to Harper and Bryce. Pat was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Cocciolone (Dio). He is survived by his sister, Barbara Dio; the mother of his children, Joanne Welsh Dio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were better for knowing him. For more than forty years, Pat worked as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic, dedication, and determination. He retired in 2000, having built a career and life centered around providing for those he loved. Family was always at the center of Pat's world. He loved unconditionally and never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether it was family, a friend, or even someone he had just met, Pat would do whatever he could to lend a hand. His generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others were among the many qualities that made him so special. Pat was a proud Philadelphia Mummer for more than twenty years and cherished the friendships, traditions, and memories that came with it. He was also a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, though many would argue that he spent just as much time criticizing the team as he did cheering for them. It was all part of the fun and part of what made him who he was. A devoted fan of John Wayne, Pat loved westerns and could spend hours talking about World War II history, stories, and movies. He was a regular fixture at Gooey Looie's, where he enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing a meal, catching up on the latest news, and telling a story or two. Perhaps what people will remember most about Pat were his stories. He always had one to tell, and somehow every story left people laughing. Whether recounting a memory from years ago, sharing a lesson learned on the road, or simply telling a tale in his own unforgettable way, Pat had a gift for bringing people together through laughter. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, "Pop" was more than a nickname—it was a title earned through a lifetime of love, support, wisdom, and devotion. Pat was a devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, caring brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend. He loved his family unconditionally and would do anything for anyone who asked for his help. His kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him will remain with all who knew him. If you knew Pat, chances are you heard him ask, "Can you do me a favor?" or politely add, "If it's not too much trouble." Those simple phrases reflected the kind of man he was—humble, thoughtful, and always looking out for others. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in the countless memories he gave us, the lessons he taught us, the stories he shared, and the laughter he brought into our lives. His legacy will live on through his family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Patrick Francis Dio—Pat to many, Pop to those who loved him most—will be profoundly missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Thursday Eve June 18, 2026 after 7 PM until 9 PM and again on Friday, June 19, 2026 after 8 AM from the Rogers Funeral Home, Inc., 1426-30 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 followed by his Funeral Service at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
