The ancient philosopher Heraclitus said “The only constant in life is change” that tidbit of wisdom has survived thousands of years. The juxtaposition of that is similar to what is happening with The North Fork Cafe. We are changing, in the grand scheme of things this has been a relatively short trip, but in our hearts we will remember your kindness and support for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much for opening your arms to us. We appreciate all of you.

If you haven’t noticed Leah hasn’t been serving sandwiches for a couple weeks. For the last three years she has taken a break for the winter season. A lot of you may already know this but this time she is not coming back. Her and her lovely husband will be moving away from our beautiful valley next Spring. We want to take this time to thank her for all the time and hard work she put into our endeavor. She had never done anything like this before and it showed great courage that she took that chance on herself. We appreciate it so much. She was lovely to work with always fair and calm. We would not have been able to create this space without her and she will be sorely missed. We love you Leah, good journey.

one of our valley’s resident historians posted this picture on Facebook today. Its roughly the area our budding little business sits today, taken in 1903. Our town was a very different place just over a century ago. It’s scary to watch places you love change around you. We always want to hold on to the way it was. Change is constant though and the new ideas and life it brings into our valley and our hearts need their time to run their course also. Thank you little valley for all your support! We hope to be able to serve you for a good long while yet.

Leah’s trying out some delicious new products down here. This is the Turkey Pesto Melt. Perfectly crisp/soft roll, fresh arugula and red onion, pesto, melted provolone and sliced turkey. Emma just had one it looked pretty damn good and she said it tasted fantastic. You should get yours before they run out.
