The Dixie is a landmark breakfast and lunch establishment in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg since the 1920s and in it's current location since 1939. It has seen several owners over the years and remains a local favorite. Our menu items include our famous Dixie Dog which is a red hot dog with mustard, onions and our tasty chili sauce. We also serve fried Salt Herring, Salmon Croquettes, Meatloaf

, Chicken-N-Dumplings, made from scratch Pimento Cheese, Ham Salad, and Chicken Salad. We offer a variety of sandwiches, barbeque, burgers and hot-plate specials that change daily.

NEW MENU!!!
These will start on Tuesday!! 🥳 I know I said in January I would have these done, but I had a few hiccups along the way while making them! Better late than never!

We have added some things to the menu that you have been asking for!!

🍳 Breakfast will now be served from 7am- 12pm Tuesday-Friday & 7am-1pm on Saturdays! You will still be able to start ordering lunch at 11am! We have been asked multiple times to push breakfast back a little, so we made it happen!
🌭 Hot dog combo!
🍔 ALL burger combos now come with French fries instead of chips!
🧇🥞🥖 French toast, triple stack & Belgian waffle breakfasts now all come with eggs and a meat!
We have also added some lunch specials to the menu under southern plates!

We have a couple more things in the works so stay tuned!! We hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday! 🥰

Dylan and I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for everything today! Everyone who came by today was so nice and extremely grateful we were even open! We had regulars offering to buss tables to help out and everyone worked together to make it to 3pm! We only had 6 employees today and had customers mentioning they would’ve never known unless they were told and that was the biggest compliment we could’ve received! We can’t thank our staff enough for all they did today and for hanging in there with us. We are truly blessed to say the least! We will see everyone tomorrow at 7am 🥞🧇☕️🌭

We will be OPEN today! Delayed opening! Opening at 9am!
We have asked our staff whoever feels comfortable coming in they’re able to and if they don’t they have the option to stay home since some of our staff live off of country roads!

Dylan is outside now scraping the sidewalks and clearing snow. We want to offer 10% off to ALL First Responders today and VDOT workers!! They’re keeping everyone safe, but also have to eat as well!! If anyone in the Petersburg/Colonial Heights area need a delivery please message our page or call the restaurant and we will offer delivery within a 10 mile radius!

Regina did an outstanding job with the meatloaf this week!! We have already sold out, but will have it back next Wednesday! 🥰

Mac n cheese straight out the oven and we still have chicken and dumplings on the board for specials today!

We have also sold out of chocolate covered strawberries! Thank you to everyone who purchased them. I will definitely do more next year after how great of a turn out these were!
