I am deeply saddened to announce that unfortunately, Butcher Crown Roadhouse is closed for business. There does not appear to be a path to march forward.
If the opening of a restaurant is like the birth of a child - bursting with excitement, joy, and optimism, then the end is akin to the death of one - engulfed in sadness, regret, and guilt.
I am disappointed that we will not be able to continue to serve the Petaluma community, for which I am proud to have been a part of.
I am extremely grateful for the support of our guests. A restaurant does not really get to choose its customers, but I could not have picked better myself. I sincerely enjoyed interacting and getting to know our guests, and it has been a wonderful treat to have served you for nearly 5 years. I am incredibly grateful for the folks who took the time to visit us, and will forever be touched by those who continuously rallied around us.
I have been extremely fortunate to have been the employer of some amazing people. The hardest part of this decision is that I don’t get to hang out everyday with Justin, Sam, and Jonathan. They put their heart and souls into this place, and were an absolute blast to be around. You guys are like family to me and my daughter, Brooklyn.
Shout out to everyone who has worked at Butcher Crown. Thank you for gracing us. Your efforts will always be appreciated.
One of the main reasons that I persisted against all odds in this tumultuous industry is that I wanted to teach Brooklyn to never give up. Well, I don’t really consider this closing as giving up, but rather a closure to this chapter. I remain as passionate as ever about authentic barbecue, and I am excited for upcoming projects, which hopefully will bring me back to the Petaluma food scene sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, Petaluma is currently blessed with a plethora of ridiculously good food and drink options. Please support them. The restaurant industry is in dire straits. Stay loyal to the soil.
