I’m a bit late on this post, crazy weekend. But last Friday the Steeleville senior class stopped in for breakfast before school.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a group of young people choose to get together, grab some breakfast, and support a local business!

And I’ve gotta give these kids credit. They called us the day before to let us know a big group was coming so we could staff up, they were incredibly polite and patient with our staff, and every one of them had great manners.

I’m not kidding when I say this, but I’ve had customers over twice their age come through these doors who don’t behave half as well as these students.

Seriously, kudos times a hundred to the parents who raised this bunch . It’s exactly the kind of thing we love seeing in our community.

Thanks for spending your morning with us and supporting local. We look forward to seeing you all again!

Some changes are coming to Hemi’s, and this is a big first step.

For a while now, we’ve been working toward doing things with a little more authenticity. Less opening a box and dropping something in a fryer, and more real food, made the way it should be.

We would’ve loved to make changes like this from day one, but no major changes could have really sustained without a long, steady kitchen overhaul. Repairs, new equipment, upgrades, and a whole lot of time and money have gone into getting our kitchen where it needs to be. Our hard work is really starting to pay dividends.

First up is our new Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Basket

Three jumbo chicken tenders, breaded by hand right here in our kitchen. Served with fries, a choice of dipping sauce, and a thick piece of Texas toast. And yes, the Texas toast is buttered and grilled fresh on the flat top.

More changes are coming soon, so keep your eyes on our page for more updates!

New weekend breakfast alert!

This weekend we will be introducing our new Bananarama Butte pancake stack! (Give me a break, I’ve backed myself into a corner with this whole mountain theme)

When I introduced them to Helen, her first words were “what the hell is a Bana Narama Booty??” I didn’t correct her, so this Saturday should be fun.

Anyway, these pancakes are grilled with fresh bananas, walnuts, cinnamon, and brown sugar! (Yes, I’m an Oxford comma baby…sue me)

We will be introducing some more specialty French toast this weekend as well, so stop in at Hemi’s Cafe!

SATURDAY UPDATE

Starting immediately, we will no longer be offering delivery on Saturdays.

Between all the extra dine-in and carryout business, we can’t afford to send anyone away from the building. We need all hands on deck. I know, there are worse problems to have.

We will still be taking call-in and carryout orders as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see everyone for breakfast tomorrow!

Stop in this Saturday and Sunday for our specialty pancakes. If you haven’t yet, you’ve gotta try the Blueberry Bluff stack. They’re made with real blueberries and the powdered sugar is supposed to be like snow on top of the mountain. Neat huh?

I shouldn’t be telling you this, but my neighbor has some fresh blueberries growing in her back yard. I snuck back there while she was at work and helped myself. They taste a little bitter right now but I’m sure they’ll sweeten up by this weekend. Gotta save money where I can!
