❤️ A Message from the True Grit Family ❤️

We want to take a moment to wish Chef Rusty and his family all the best as he moves on from True Grit Kitchen & Cantina.

We appreciate the time, talent, and passion Rusty brought to our kitchen and thank him for being part of our journey. We sincerely wish him nothing but happiness and success in his future endeavors.

As for True Grit, the devastation from the hurricane and losing our entire food inventory has left us facing some incredibly difficult challenges, but our story isn’t over just yet! ❤️

We are exploring every possible avenue to get our doors back open and continue doing what we love — serving the community that has supported us through it all.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in us, pray for us, and encourage us. Your support means more than words can express.

🙏❤️ Our Hearts Are Heavy, But Our Faith Is Strong. ❤️🙏

Due to the hurricane and the damage it has caused, True Grit Kitchen & Cantina will remain closed until further notice.

Unfortunately, we lost all of our food inventory due to the storm. For a small, family-owned restaurant, this is a devastating loss. We’ve poured our hearts, souls, and everything we have into True Grit, and this is definitely a tough pill to swallow.

But food can be replaced. Buildings can be repaired. Lives cannot.

Right now, our biggest concern is the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, friends, neighbors, and everyone affected by this storm.

🙏 We are praying for every family dealing with damage, loss, flooding, or uncertainty. We know we aren’t the only ones facing hardships right now.

We’ve built True Grit on faith, family, and grit, and we’re going to lean on all three as we work toward reopening.

We don’t know exactly what the next few days will bring, but we do know we will not give up!!

Thank you to our amazing community for always supporting this little mom-and-pop restaurant. We love y’all, and we will keep you updated as we figure out our next steps.

📣 A LITTLE TRUE GRIT HOURS UPDATE

We’ve always promised to be open and transparent with our True Grit family, so we wanted to give you a heads-up about a small change coming to our hours. 💙

We’ve been watching our mornings closely for the last year and the truth is… 8–10 AM on Wednesday and Thursday is just slow. Rather than having our crew here waiting on empty tables, we’re making a business decision that makes sense for our little locally owned mom-and-pop restaurant.

We’ll be adjusting our opening time to 10 AM on Wednesday and Thursday only!!!

DON’T PANIC! 😂 True Grit isn’t going anywhere!! We’re simply learning, adjusting, and making smart decisions that help keep us strong for the long haul.

And the good stuff isn’t changing! You’ll still be able to get your True Grit breakfast and brunch favorites, green chile, burgers, lunch, dinner and all those crazy creations that come out of our kitchen. 🌶️🍳🍔

Being a small business means constantly paying attention to what works, what doesn’t, and where we can do better. We’d rather be honest with y’all than quietly make changes and leave everyone wondering.

Thank you for continuing to show up, support local, and grow with us. We’re not a chain. We’re your neighborhood mom-and-pop, and every single table matters to us. ❤️
