Our Grower Relations Manager, Hunter Lapp, took us along for a morning walk through our Vineyard off Adelaida Road to show how each vine has its own unique story and growing process.
This spring, different parts of the vineyard experienced different moments in the growing season at the same time.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are still in bloom, with tiny flowers beginning the journey toward becoming grapes. It’s a delicate stage where sunshine, weather, and care from our vineyard team all play an important role.
Just a few rows away, fruit set has begun. The flowers that successfully pollinated are transforming into young grape clusters that will continue growing through the summer.
And in our Syrah blocks, the clusters have reached bunch closure — when the berries grow close enough to touch, protecting the fruit as it continues to ripen.
Bloom, set, and bunch closure all within one vineyard walk. Every block moves at its own pace, and understanding these small moments is what makes growing wine so rewarding.
