Happy September!!

This summer, we celebrated **8 years since we created blendabowl!** 🥹💜

As a small business owner, you go through so many highs and lows that sometimes you forget to stop and celebrate what you’ve actually created.

For us, it started in September 2017, sitting on our back deck with an idea.

Creating something from nothing is not easy. Neither my husband nor I are originally from Maryland, and when we started, we didn’t have a big local network or community of people waiting to support us. We were simply taking a chance on an idea we believed in.

Eight years later, we give thanks every day for the community that has grown around blendabowl. 💜

So for my monthly post, instead of telling you all about blendabowl, I want to use this little space to encourage **YOU.**

If you have an idea or a dream you keep thinking about…go for it.

Don’t wait for the perfect time or until every duck is perfectly in a row. Create a plan, give yourself some direction, and take the first step.

We had people tell us we were crazy. We heard that we’d be back at our old jobs within six months. I even had a boss encourage me to take a leave of absence instead of quitting—“just in case.”

And you know what? They weren’t necessarily wrong to be cautious. Nothing is guaranteed. We certainly didn't know where this would go either.

But if we had never tried, blendabowl wouldn't exist.

So I hope this reaches even **one person** who has an idea they’ve been afraid to pursue. I can’t wait to see what you create. 😉 And if you ever need a cheerleader—or just someone who understands how lonely entrepreneurship can sometimes feel—reach out. 💜

Okay…now back to what I actually do best: blending up delicious açaí bowls, smoothies and cold-pressed juices in our gluten-, peanut- & dye-free space. 😂

MEET THE BUSINESSES IN THE BASKET —

👗 Quaintrelle Boutique— I met the owner through a local women's networking group and a Chamber event. She and her team helped me upscale my wardrobe while still allowing me to feel like ME. If you know me, you know how important that last part is. 😂💜

🕯️ The Blended Essentials— We took our team to their soap and candle-making studio for a team bonding event. We stepped away from blending, to do some blending 😂
It gave us a chance to step outside of Blendabowl, spend time together, laugh, and create something of our own… and we had such a great time doing it!

🐢Turtles and Tides — The creator is a single mom who also happens to be the mom of our Taylor! Taylor started with Blendabowl 5 years ago, when we opened our brick and mortar, making this connection extra special to us. 💜
