It’s rare that we get to see the baler’s guts. Steve and Eli had to take her apart and replace some worn down parts, which means when the first straw bale of the day came through we had quite the show. It was a huge bale too, and it broke, but they baled perfectly after that one!

June is both pride month and National dairy month, two things that we hold near and dear to our hearts. It is only fitting that Steph and I experienced 2 huge milestones this year in dairy and love; we were issued our dairy license, a dream Steph has been chasing for years now (woot woot!), and we got engaged! The real work begins now for the Beem Farm’s new micro-dairy, and I’m so proud of the work we are doing. As for my beautiful fiancé, I never imagined I would find someone like Steph. In June, we can be grateful for all of the people who came before us, and who fought hard for our rights today. Our engagement rings are a privilege, and every human being should be able to experience this joy ❤️🏳️‍🌈

The perfect sandwich doesn’t ex— or maybe it does! Sunday supper couldn’t wait this week because Saturday breakfast was just oh so good. We picked up fresh focaccia bread last night at the Newport Community Market from (SO good! It barely made it home), and knew it needed to be a sandwich. Add bacon, avocado, parmesan, and fresh eggs from our laying hens, and you have ~this~ masterpiece. We whipped these breakfast sandwiches up on Steph’s new blackstone grill (thank you !!), which fulfills her dream of an outdoor kitchen 🔥

Putting the new planter to work! Thank you Steve Beem for making corn planting easy this spring. Once we messed up a few times, and scraped some of the new paint off (oops) this Cole planter worked like a charm. The Beem Farm’s sweet corn crop is finally in the ground 🌽
