☕ COFFEE ON US — FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2! ☕
Tomorrow morning, your first cup of coffee could be on Chad & Gloria with Nemo Brush Cutting!
Thanks to their generosity, the first 20 coffees are FREE at Rebel Smash!
This week's sponsor shared something extra special with us. Gloria wrote a heartfelt tribute to Doug, filled with memories, laughter, and a whole lot of love. We couldn't think of a better way to share it than in her very own words.
❤️ A MESSAGE FROM GLORIA:
From Burger Boy to Businessman
If you had told me years ago that the little boy I watched grow up would one day be the man he is today, I probably would have smiled and said, “Of course he will.” Because even from a young age, Doug Jr. always had something special about him.
He has always had a positive attitude and a confidence that seems to say, “I’ve got this.” He is kind, generous, thoughtful, and the kind of person who is willing to help others without expecting anything in return. Those qualities have followed him throughout his life and have become a big part of the man—and businessman—he is today.
Of course, before he became the successful businessman everyone knows, there was another important chapter in his career: Doug Jr., Burger Boy at Mickey D’s. 😂
Yes, folks, before the business world, there were burgers, fries, and probably plenty of stories that doesn’t need to tell in a business article! But looking back, maybe that was just the beginning. Every job, every experience, and every person he met along the way helped shape the person he would become.
Some of my favorite memories aren’t necessarily one big, life-changing moment. They’re the simple family memories—the trips, the laughs, and even those adventures that make you look back and think, “What were we even doing?” Those are the memories that stick with you.
And then there was that motel trip with Weirdo Doug… 😂 I may not remember every detail anymore, but I remember the laughs and the memories we made. Sometimes the best stories aren’t the ones you can tell word-for-word years later. They’re the ones that still make you smile when you think about them.
Watching Doug Jr. grow from that kid into the man he is today has been one of those things that makes a mom proud. His confidence, generosity, kindness, and positive attitude aren’t just things he brings to his business—they’re the things that make people want to be around him.
A successful business can be built with hard work, determination, and good ideas. But building relationships, earning people’s trust, and treating others with kindness—that comes from who you are.
And Doug Jr. has always had that.
So here’s to the little boy who became the Burger Boy at Mickey D’s, the kid on the pontoon, the guy who survived the adventures with Weirdo Doug, and the man who turned all those years of growing, learning, laughing, and working into the businessman he is today.
I’m proud of you, Doug Jr."
And no matter how successful you become, I’ll always remember the little boy underneath it all.
A HUGE thank-you to Chad & Gloria and Nemo Brush Cutting for sponsoring tomorrow's Coffee on Us and for sharing such a special message!
