Good Morning, Frisky Family!

I wanted to give you a little heads-up…

I get multiple alerts on my phone from our outside security cameras every day, and I often see people in the early mornings and late afternoons/evenings peeking in the windows to say hello to the cats.

I don’t mind at all… I love that so many of you enjoy checking in on the kitties.

This morning, at around 9:00 a.m., my wonderful volunteers, Thom and Bill, spotted this rattlesnake right outside the cat lounge windows.

It was a good reminder that it’s rattlesnake season. If you’re stopping by to visit the cats, please avoid standing on the grass or in the landscaping, and keep an eye on little ones and your pups. The brush and grass are exactly where rattlesnakes like to hang out.

Better yet… come and visit us when we’re open! It’s nice and air-conditioned, the cats would love some cuddles (and maybe a few treats).

BREAKING NEWS: Local Wildlife Has Discovered the Free Drink Special at Frisky Business.

Apparently, word has spread through Palm Springs that if you’re a squirrel, bunny, bird, or roadrunner, Frisky Business offers complimentary refreshments.

Unfortunately for them...

They’re completely unaware they’re being watched by the nosiest cats in California.

Every visitor is analyzed.
Every sip is judged.
Every hop is discussed.

Percy is convinced the squirrel comes back daily because he’s a fan.

Hawthorn thinks the bunny is up to something.

Salsa doesn’t trust the roadrunner.
Nobody knows why.
He just has “that look.”

Mrs. Frisky says the water bowls are for the wildlife.
The Frisky Felines say they’re just gathering evidence.

Either way, everybody wins.

The wildlife gets a cool drink during these scorching summer days, and the Frisky Felines get what has become their favorite daily soap opera.

OFFICIAL NOTICE FROM YOUR LANDLORD, PERCY McMERCY

Attention, Frisky Felines.

After conducting my annual inspection of… myself… I’ve determined you’re all getting an exceptional deal simply by living in the same establishment as me.

As such…

Your rent is increasing.

Effective immediately, monthly rent will consist of:

• 17 compliments about my magnificent floof.
• 9 unsolicited comments about my perfect cheekbones.
• 4 standing ovations every time I enter a room.
• Referring to me only as “Your Royal Floofiness.”

Failure to comply will result in immediate eviction from the best window seat and permanent demotion to the drafty corner by the litter boxes.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have important business to attend to…

Being fabulous doesn’t happen by itself.

Regally yours,

🎬 This Week on The Real House Cats of Palm Springs: Espresso Mewtinis, Unwanted Advances & Delusion

Sources close to the litter box have confirmed that production has officially classified last night's cocktail party as...

"...an insurance claim waiting to happen."

Witnesses say Archie arrived nearly an hour late.
Smelling faintly of espresso mewtinis.
Designer cologne.
And unchecked confidence.

Residents knew immediately.....he was going to embarrass himself.

According to multiple witnesses, Archie spent the first half of the evening telling anyone who would listen that he was...

"Emotionally available."

Nobody asked.

Then, without warning...
He strutted straight over to Biscuit.
Flashed what he believed was his most irresistible smile.
And attempted to smooch her.

Biscuit recoiled so dramatically that one resident described it as...

"A full-body factory reset."

She reportedly shouted,
"ARCHIE! I'VE BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH MEW FOR DAYS!. SHOW SOME RESPECT!"

Silence.

Every head slowly turned toward Mew.

Who was busy watching a fly on the window.
Production asked if he had anything to say.

Mew blinked.
"Wait..."
"We're dating?"
"I thought we were preparing for our litter box certification exam."

Production has since confirmed that Biscuit has believed she and Mew have been in a committed relationship for several days.

She follows him everywhere.
Sleeps beside him.
Shares her favorite sunspot with him.

Mew...
..was hearing this information for the very first time.
Archie immediately insisted he'd been getting "mixed signals."

Oliver immediately launched an investigation.

Current allegations include:
• Excessive espresso mewtini consumption.
• Attempted homewrecking.
• Failure to read the room.
• Public displays of delusion.
• Existing far too confidently.

🎤 Confessional — Biscuit
"We're in a relationship."
"Just because he doesn't know it..."
"...doesn't make me single."

🎤 Confessional — Mew
"I thought we were in a study group."

🎤 Confessional — Archie
"In my defense..."
"Confidence has never been my problem."

🎤 Confessional — Oliver
"I've seen stronger cases built on catnip."
"This one's going straight to the HOA."

Next week on The Real House Cats of Palm Springs...

Biscuit changes her relationship status to "It's Complicated."

Mew accidentally RSVPs "Maybe" to his own anniversary dinner.

Archie trades espresso mewtinis for catsmopolitans.....and somehow gets even flirtier.

Oliver arrives with screenshots, security footage.....and a PowerPoint presentation.

Production installs a two-mewtini drink limit.

And the HOA votes on whether Archie should be banned from future cocktail parties.

No cats were harmed during filming.
Several reputations were.

The Frisky Felines have a confession…

We absolutely LOVE it when Mrs. Frisky announces it’s “rearranging day.”

Every couple of weeks she pulls the lounge apart, moves all the cat trees to new spots, swaps out our beds, and brings out different toys. She calls it environmental enrichment.

We call it the best day of the month.

Naturally, we insist on helping.

Someone has to climb into the storage bench before she’s even finished opening it.

Someone has to test every bed before it’s allowed on the floor.

Someone has to make sure every new toy meets our extremely high standards (which usually involves immediately losing it under the furniture).

And, of course, someone has to sit exactly where she’s trying to put the cat tree.

It’s called teamwork.

The funny thing is, she thinks she’s the one rearranging the lounge.

She’s not.

She’s simply moving things until they meet our approval.

Once everything is finally in place, it’s like we’ve been given a brand-new cat café to explore. New climbing routes. New hiding spots. Fresh scents. Different vantage points for judging customers. Countless new places to dramatically flop over and pretend we’ve had a very hard day.

Mrs. Frisky says changing our environment keeps our minds active and curious.

We say she’s just giving us fresh opportunities to ignore the expensive toys and play with the storage bench instead.

Humans never learn.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, she’s opened the storage bench again and we have an important meeting to attend… inside it.

From Percy…

To the wonderful person who anonymously had three tubs of Bonkers Purr Pops delivered to us through Amazon…

I love you.

We’ve never had these before, and I have just one question…

WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

They’re fish.
They’re creamy.
They’re on a stick.

It’s basically a gourmet lollipop for cats.

Now… there have been allegations that I growled at Mrs. Frisky.

I’d like to clear a few things up.

Mrs. Frisky made the unfortunate decision to remove my lollipop while I was still enjoying it.

I simply expressed my opinion.

Very clearly.

In fairness, I think anyone would have done the same.

She still has all ten fingers, so I’d say the situation has been blown wildly out of proportion.

Needless to say, we’ve developed an impressive level of hearing. Mrs. Frisky can’t even think about opening a tub without six cats appearing out of nowhere.

So, to the kind person who surprised us with this anonymous Amazon delivery…

Thank you.

You have officially created an army of Bonkers addicts.

Mrs. Frisky keeps saying, “These are treats, not meals.”

I keep saying, “Respectfully… you’re wrong”.

Hi Frisky Family,

I have some exciting news...

After months of writing, editing, laughing, rewriting, and spending far too much time imagining the secret lives and scandals of the Frisky Felines, The Real House Cats of Palm Springs coffee table book is almost finished.

As I've been working on the final chapters, I've realized something.

Although the Frisky Felines are definitely the stars of this book, the story of Frisky Business has never really been just about them.

It's about all of us.

Frisky Business wouldn't exist without this incredible community. Whether you've visited us here in Palm Springs, followed our journey from across the country, or supported us from somewhere else in the world, you've become part of the Frisky Family.

You've celebrated adoptions with us. You've cried with us when we've lost beloved cats. You've volunteered your time, cheered us on, shared our posts, sent encouraging messages, and loved these cats as if they were your own.

For that, I will always be grateful.

So I'd love to invite you to become part of the writing process.

I'm adding a section at the end of the book about the real story behind Frisky Business—what inspired us to open a cat café, some of our favorite memories, the lessons we've learned along the way, and where this journey is taking us next.

But before I write those chapters...
I want to know what you want to know.

If you could ask me anything, what would it be?

Is there something you've always wondered about...
• Frisky?
• The cats?
• Me?
• Sonny?
• What it's really like running a cat café?
• The future?
• The dream we're building?

Leave your questions in the comments.

This book may have my name on the cover, but it has always belonged to the Frisky Family.

It only feels right that the people who have helped write this story through their love, kindness, and support should help shape the way it ends.

I can't wait to read your questions.

Love,
Mrs. Frisky xx

07/26/2026

Hi Frisky Family,

My name is Archie.

Well… officially my shelter name is Chick Filet, but Mrs. Frisky wasn’t a fan of that name. She said I deserved a nice name… so around Frisky Business, everyone calls me Archie!

Mrs. Frisky met me a couple of weeks ago while she was visiting cats at the shelter. I was out in the catio, and I ran straight up to her, weaved in and out of her legs, and snuggled right next to her. That’s when she said I was way too friendly to be a catio cat.

The catio is home to cats with all kinds of stories. Some are still learning to trust people, some are more comfortable with the extra outdoor space, and some, like me, are simply waiting for someone to see who we really are.

Mrs. Frisky asked for me to be put on the transfer list to Frisky, and I arrived last Wednesday. I already love it here!

I’m two years old, and you may have noticed I have a tipped ear. That little notch means I was part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.

Sometimes, ear-tipped cats are misunderstood. People see the notch and assume we don’t enjoy being around humans. While many ear-tipped cats are happiest living outdoors, others—like me—are complete love bugs who just need someone willing to look a little closer. That’s why Mrs. Frisky wanted me to come to Frisky.

She believes an ear tip tells you where we’ve been—not who we are.

I’m settling into life at Frisky Business, making new friends, soaking up all the attention I can get, and proving that I really do belong with people. I have to admit, I’m also enjoying not living out in the summer heat anymore!

I’d love for you to stop by and say hello.

Love,

Archie xx

07/24/2026

Hi Frisky Family,

The Ant Attack Saga of 2026 continues… although thankfully I’m definitely on the mend.

I’m still taking things easy this week while I recover, and while Sonny’s son (my bonus son) is visiting from Cleveland, we’ve escaped on a road trip through Yosemite and Big Sur. I’ll be honest… camping isn’t nearly as much fun when you’re not feeling 100%, but the scenery has certainly helped.

Today we made a stop that was incredibly special to me.

We visited HART (Homeless Animal Rescue Team) in Cambria, where Sonny and I adopted Luna and Puma from five years ago.

Walking back through those doors was a full-circle moment.

In August 2021, I’d only been living in America for a few months. I’d gone through a divorce that turned my world upside down. I’d left behind my home, a life I had built and, perhaps hardest of all, my two senior boys, Bagheera and Baloo. They were simply too old to make the journey from London, and I knew the kindest thing was to leave them with my ex-husband.

I was heartbroken leaving my cubs behind, and I felt completely lost.

Sonny suggested we take a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway to help me heal. Somewhere along that drive, we spotted HART.

I wandered inside, made a donation, and then went to sit with the cats.

As I sat on the floor, a tiny grey kitten named Faith climbed straight into my lap.

She looked so much like Bagheera and Baloo had when they were little that I completely fell apart. I sat there crying, holding this little kitten called Faith, and I couldn’t help but wonder if that was exactly what she represented.

Faith.

A reminder that life wasn’t over. That somehow, despite everything, it was going to be okay.

Then we met two beautiful three-month-old black cats who had been found on the side of a highway.

Luna and Puma.

I remember turning to Sonny and asking if he thought adopting them was a good idea.

I’ve since learned that Sonny isn’t exactly the voice of restraint when it comes to rescue animals. He’d probably let me adopt a pet alligator if I wanted one. He’d grumble about it… and then quietly build it the nicest enclosure you’ve ever seen.

So Luna and Puma came home with us.

Walking back into HART today wasn’t emotional because I’d forgotten those memories. Quite the opposite. They have stayed with me ever since. Every time I look at Luna and Puma, I’m reminded of that road trip, of Faith, and of the woman who was desperately hoping life would get better.

And it did.

Frisky was born from those difficult years and has now been open for almost four years. Since then, we’ve rescued, cared for, and found homes for hundreds of cats, built an incredible community, and discovered that sometimes the hardest chapters of our lives quietly lead us exactly to where we’re meant to be.

Of course, there were adorable kittens everywhere today.

But it wasn’t a kitten who stole my heart.

It was Gracie.

A beautiful 22-year-old former TNR cat, who climbed onto my lap, curled up, and promptly fell asleep as though we’d known each other forever.

Kittens are wonderful, but the older souls… the ones with a few scars, a lifetime of stories, and maybe not as much time left… they have a way of finding their way straight into my heart.

Anyway, I thought I’d share this sentimental little story… just in case someone out there needs a little Faith today.

Love,
Mrs. Frisky xx
