I thought this post was fitting for World Doula Week.

Birth is hard!
Birth is emotionally draining!
Birth can play ticks on you.
Births can bring out the best and the worst in you.
Most importantly, birth proves just how strong you really are!!

I admire you, I see you, I laugh with you, and I cry with you. I'm in awe of you power!!

Recognizing World Doula Week. When people think of a Doula, they think of birth. Did you know there are many kinds of Doula’s? Allow me to break them down.
1) Birth Doula - a trained labor coach who assists you during labor and delivery. She provides you with continuous emotional support, as well as assistance with other non-medical aspects of your care
2) Postpartum Doula - supports and encourages the family in bonding between mother, father and child. New moms can have a difficult time adjusting to the stresses of a newborn, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and postpartum blues. The doula’s job is to help mom cope with these stressors. She also teaches the family strategies like creating a parental plan, keeping a log, and finding time for herself.
3) Antepartum Doula - provides focused support to women undergoing pregnancies which involve complications to the mother or her unborn baby. These complications could include medical reasons, being bedridden, or a teen pregnancy.
4) Loss & Bereavement Doula - Supports and helps families who are experiencing the loss of their baby, whether that loss is through miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or a diagnosis that means the baby will not live long after being delivered.
5) Death Doula - non-medical person trained to care for someone holistically (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) at the end of life.

The "BRR" months are here! 🥶

It's time to keep kids safe and warm in their car seats. Blankets are a good alternative to a heavy, puffy coat, which can cause the car seat harness to not fit snugly.

Until SNAP is back, Gigglewaters is providing free lunches for kids who need them.

Starting November 1st, stop in and ask for a “GiggleBag.” It’s just a simple, bagged to-go lunch, nothing fancy, but it’s a meal if your children are hungry. One for every child with you, every single day, no purchase necessary, until SNAP benefits are reinstated in Florida. We’ll keep helping however we can, for as long as we can.

We can’t fix everything. But we can offer a meal.
