I wanted to share the big news that we have been dying to tell you all!

We are supper excited as we have know for many years that God was calling us into a life in ministry.

Help us to welcome Amanda Hicks and her family to Tomoka! She has accepted the full-time position of NextGen Director here at Tomoka Palm Bay.

Our NextGen Ministry is focused on empowering the next generation from birth to high school. Aligning children's ministry and student ministry to develop an intentional discipleship strategy.

We are excited to watch as God goes to work through Amanda’s leadership, alongside our church to help raise up the next generation to love God and love others.

We are breaking what may feel like to you and definitely feels like it to us a long awaited silence. Sorry, we had to make sure our tribe heard what was going on before they read it on social media ❤️

After nine months of business we decided to close the trailer doors. There are a few reasons we are taking these measures, however if you trace the lead to all of the reasons they will lead you back to our family.

There were many purposes for this business. First was for God. Showing blind faith in what God wanted to do in our life. We wanted to spread to AMAZING news of Jesus Christ. We wanted to write a new story other than being tied to a job for our family. As a lawn enforcement officer I saw where the gaps were in our community and where the needs were so I wanted to help fill those gaps. We wanted show our family that we can choose to either work to afford our life or we could build our life as a family to include work to fund our life. God intended us to be together and not fighting to be together through work schedules, school, and activities.

Ultimately, the business was taking away from
Our ability to do all of this well. The food truck business “ain’t no joke” 🤪😂 But to be sure this doesn’t sound like it was too much work, it wasn’t the work. It was the attention it was taking away from our family. 😊❤️

The feelings about this decision were so mixed. Relieved that priorities were going to be put back in order. Sad because I was emotionally invested in the business and what it stood for. Of course the enemy couldn’t go with feeding on those feelings and making me doubt my ability. Making me feel like a failure. However, God used what seemed like what was meant for evil and brought peace. He brought answers. 🙌

We are believing that God has a plan for River Of Life Coffee, so we’re just listening patiently. Are you wondering what next? We’ll, God called me into ministry several years ago. I again didn’t know exactly what that looked like and still have some questions, but ultimately I am believing He is preparing a place for me in a church. I have applied for a children’s and youth pastor and am currently in the interview process for it. My prayer is for God’s will to be done. For Him to lead me to what He has next for me. All your prayers for the same thing are GREATLY appreciated ❤️

We are extremely grateful for all the support we had a long the way! We are blessed for the relationships we made and can’t wait to see where they lead us in the future. This isn’t goodbye, I promise! 😊

I don’t know if this speaks to you the same way it did to me. But when I say that my soul was rocked by this it is an understatement.

I have learned through my life that we are not on a race or traveling through time with a series of accomplishments to achieve. This is a Journey. A Journey to be lived out with our God and those He puts onto our path.

I was so mistaken as a teenager and young adult. I thought it was bad to make a mistake and that it made me a bad person. While there can be negative consequences to a wrong decision, that doesn’t mean that I am bad. It just means that I did something outside of what God calls us to do or who God calls us to be.

Giving our children (or anyone you have influence over in your life) God’s wisdom is the perfect way to cast out fears. Both theirs and ours. Fears of them making mistakes or being in a situation that we couldn’t be there to prevent. Their connection to God and our equipment from God to guide them is LIFE CHANGING. We won’t have to be afraid because we know who has been placed in their heart and who they relinquish control to.

Let’s let them live their life. And how about we start telling others that it is okay to make mistakes. Also, reminding them that they’re on a journey and not a bullet train called life. God’s forgiveness and love are enough to for all that this journey brings to us.
