Be like the Bereans. (Acts 17:11) 🤍

♥︎ Who were the Bereans?

The Bereans were Jewish residents of the ancient city of Berea in Macedonia who were praised in Acts 17:11 for their eagerness to hear and carefully verify the teachings of the Apostle Paul.

They lived in Berea (modern-day Veria in northern Greece) during Paul's second missionary journey around AD 50.

Paul and Silas traveled to Berea after facing a violent riot and opposition from religious leaders in neighboring Thessalonica.

The local group included both Jewish synagogue attendees and prominent Greek men and women.

♥︎ Why are they famous?

Paul described them as "more noble-minded than the Thessalonians"

They welcomed Paul’s message about Jesus Christ with great enthusiasm rather than immediate hostility.

They did not accept his words blindly; instead, they examined the Old Testament Scriptures every single day to confirm if what Paul preached was true.

Because of their open-minded yet discerning study, many of them placed their faith and believed the Gospel.

♥︎ What's their legacy today?

Christians use the phrase "being a Berean" to describe deep, independent personal Bible study rather than blindly relying on religious teachers.

They demonstrate how open-minded curiosity should balance carefully with objective truth rooted in Scripture.

God bless. 👑

The life you have right now — the ordinary coffee, the ordinary morning, the ordinary people around you — is the life you once prayed for.
Don't let "someday" steal the beauty of today.

Name one small thing you're grateful for right now. I'll go first: this quiet hour before the day begins. ☕

"Gratitude turns what we have into enough." — Melody Beattie

If you’re having a tough week, remember this:

🧡🧡 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. — Psalm 73:23

Whatever this week brings, you are not facing it alone. Even when life feels difficult, God is still with you, holding on to you and walking beside you.
