Sapp’s Kitchen had the privilege of cooking for the amazing women at the Pensacola Teen Challenge Women’s Center. We’re so thankful for the opportunity to serve and share a meal made with love. What a blessing! ❤️🍍

A special thank-you to our wonderful helpers, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌🏼

On the menu: Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Bowls with fresh vegetables, pineapple, homemade teriyaki sauce, and homemade banana pudding for dessert!

The best part was serving and fellowshipping with these incredible women. We’re grateful God allows us to bring people together around the table. ❤️

✨ Happy New Year from Sapp’s Kitchen! ✨

Who else kicked off the year with black-eyed peas? Ours were hands down the best yet slow-simmered with Conecuh sausage, Cajun seasoning, and served over rice. So good yall!

The holidays were full of good food and even better memories. We cooked up a roasted leg of lamb, spatchcock chicken, and Turkish borek (minced meat pie). Christmas morning started with a cozy simmer pot filling the house, followed by roasted pears topped with feta, raisins, and pecans. And of course, fresh homemade bread, one classic loaf and one loaded with Gouda and rosemary.

Grateful for full tables, homemade meals, and stepping into a new year well-fed and thankful. 🖤🍽️

Flu season is here and it hit our house hard 🤧 Mullein tea, y’all… it’s brought real comfort during a rough week of bad coughs.

• Mullein supports the lungs and helps clear congestion
• Thyme loosens chest mucus and calms coughing
• Mint opens airways and soothes the throat
• Clove & cinnamon support immunity and add gentle warmth

Simple herbs. Real relief. Thankful for the plants God gave us to help our bodies through sick seasons 🌿

The flu is making its way through our family, so we’re stuck at home… which means I got to spend the day in my happy place, the kitchen. 💛 We started with healing chicken soup made with bone broth for hydration and protein, plus garlic, ginger, turmeric, thyme, and oregano to support immunity and the lungs. Simple and Whole Foods.

Being stuck in the house meant having fun in the kitchen and using up ingredients that were about to go bad (hello bananas 🍌). A little scrolling reels turned into cooking ideas 😅

• Eggnog Tres Leches cake with homemade whipped cream
• Guava and cream cheese pastelitos
• Protein packed banana blueberry muffins with no flour, no dairy, chia and flax (eggs optional)
• Homemade organic butter, eaten warm on the muffins 🧈First time making it.

Homemade is easier than you think, not nearly as time consuming as one would think, and healthier because it’s real, whole food. 💛

Friday Night Healthy Sweet Treat 🍪🍌

Chocolate chip cookies made in about 25 minutes start to finish. Made with ripe bananas, homemade pecan butter, protein powder, flax, chia, and Lily’s chocolate chips. No added sugar, no flour, no eggs, and gluten-free. Soft, lightly sweet, and a healthier treat everyone can enjoy.

Flax and chia add fiber to help support digestion and keep you full longer, while the protein helps balance blood sugar.

Approx nutrition (per cookie):
130–145 calories • 7–8g protein • 4–5g fiber • 2–3g sugar

50 minutes start to finish. 🙌 Mark asked for picadillo empanadas for dinner and I’ll be honest… the first time he told me what was in them I thought this man had lost his mind.

Ground beef, onions, potatoes, bell peppers and then he says green olives AND raisins. Sir… what? 😂 Turns out he was right and I was wrong🫣. So delicious!

I also had spinach that needed to be used so I made spinach, ricotta and Parmesan empanadas too. Used store bought dough and pan cooked them this time, but next round I’m baking them and making my own dough. Either way, they were so good.

If you want meals that taste amazing but don’t take all day, ask me how I can help. 💛

Did you know Sapp’s Kitchen does more than just make jams?

We also help with meal prep and budget-friendly, healthy eating — real food, simple prep, and ideas that actually work for busy families.

This week, here’s what we prepped for our own house to make mornings and snack time easier:

• Grinch breakfast tacos – spinach, eggs, and turkey sausage
(Wrapped in parchment, frozen, and microwaved for about 1½ minutes when ready)
• Apple sandwiches – apples with peanut butter, oats, raisins, and Lily’s chocolate chips
• Energy balls – oats, pecan butter, dates, raisins, peanut butter, honey, chia seeds, flaxseed, and Lily’s chocolate chips
• Veggie snack packs – cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, and carrots
• Fresh fruit – kiwi and grapes
• Boiled eggs – easy protein to grab anytime

Nothing fancy — just simple, affordable prep that saves time, reduces stress, and keeps us eating well all week.

If healthy eating feels overwhelming or expensive, tell me how we can help 🤍
