It's been awhile since I have posted.

We still have a lawsuit pending against the state of OK for what they did to our road and our business in Claremore. I am still hopeful justice will prevail. But what since? We are gone from Tahlequah and Claremore and Owasso. Are we dead? Nope.

Drip was more than just a coffeeshop. It was about people. Yes, we kicked ass on the coffee and food but at the end of the day it was about people. How you treated them. How you made them feel.

Locals, in several cities tried to copy us but they failed. My former employees who went to the competition came back to us. Why? Respect. Honesty, grace and forgiveness.

Drip lasted 14 years because we did not suck. Drip finally closed its doors because of circumstances beyond its control. COVID. Road closures. Cancel Culture. And yes, personal behind the scenes crap like divorce.

Just being real here today after so much time.

What Claremore, Owasso and Tahlequah Main Street Association needs to succeed- grace. . . forgiveness. . . and love. There is so much hate going on these days. Small and large. States, countries and yes even cities. For us to succeed we must work together. Be gracious. Give people the benefit of the doubt. AND don't believe what is posted to social media. Talk-person to person with real people.

Drip is not dead. Drip lives in my heart. Will I bring back a coffeehouse named Drip? I do not know. But my philosophy of treating people better than yourself still lives within me. That will not die. That will prevail.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that tomorrow will be Drip's final day in Owasso. We will sorely miss the many faces and regulars that called Drip home.

Why are we closing? The easy answer is the pandemic and not having a drive thru or an easy way to do curbside because the parking lot can often be so filled. From the beginning the number one complaint we heard from you was the problem with parking and we tried our best to deal with that but at the end of the day we could not make it convenient enough for many of you. Weekends were packed and busy but the rest of the week not so much and now add on top of that the pandemic. The pandemic motivated and moved people to opt for drive thru coffee locations instead. We understand. We get it.

What is our future? Well we are about to open a Claremore location which is about 2000 sq feet and with a drive thru. Also a big positive for us is that our remaining staff in Owasso will be following us there to work for us. They love their job and their craft making the world's best coffee. Some of our staff members actually already live in Claremore.

Everyone at Drip would like to thank the Owasso community for the years of positive support. Please continue to support the other wonderful businesses at 76 Main during these trying days. This part of town is already special and will continue to expand and grow as long as you continue to support them.

We hope to see you once last time tomorrow and we also hope when you are in Claremore you visit our new location. No one is guaranteed success but by God's grace we will thrive in Claremore and who knows perhaps we can come back to Owasso stronger and healthier. Thank you again.
