Britt Boren, center, celebrated her birthday Tuesday, Sep. 22 at London Museum with friends and well-wishers. Boren received a present and round of “Happy Birthday” sung to top the event. All enjoyed birthday cupcakes which were also shared with museum volunteers.

Mark Goforth, of Lumberton, Texas, brought his family to London Museum Saturday, Sep. 19, 2026.
Mark is descended from recently deceased Shirley Louise Haas Goforth, a survivor of the 1937 London School Explosion. Shirley was in fourth grade at that March 18 disaster. She returned to the rebuilt London School (now called West Rusk) and graduated as a senior in the Class of 1945. Goforth relocated to Opelouses, Louisiana and was a switchboard operator for Humble (now Exxon) Oil Company. Her funeral was Friday, Sep. 18.
Mark is in the second row at far left, beside his wife Michelle, daughter-in-law Brooke Goforth and son Bradley Goforth.
