Ritenour Co-Care was highlighted on the front page of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in an article that examined a growing challenge facing communities across the country: rising grocery prices and reductions in food assistance programs are increasing food insecurity for many families.
We are seeing that impact firsthand.
The pantry has experienced a significant increase in demand while facing higher food costs. Last year, the pantry spent approximately $120,000 on food. This year, that number has increased to $180,000, and the need continues to grow.
Despite these challenges, the Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry remains committed to serving individuals and families throughout the Ritenour School District. We are grateful for the community partnerships, volunteers and supporters who help us continue this important work.
