The girl behind Inspired Play Cafe 🌿
Before I was a business owner, wife, mom of five, or the person behind Inspired Play Cafe… I was this little girl growing up right here in Overland Park.
I grew up with my parents and three siblings. For most of my childhood, I thought I’d become a doctor like my dad. He came to the U.S. as an immigrant and eventually built his own private practice, while my mom stayed home and poured herself into raising our family.
Looking back, I think I got a little bit of both of them—the entrepreneurial drive to build something of my own and the desire to make motherhood and family the center of my life.
I started college studying criminal justice at JUCO before transferring to KU to study behavior analysis. After college, I spent years working as a behavior therapist with children with autism. That experience still influences so much of how I think about children, play, development, and the environment we’ve created at Inspired.
Then I became a mom, and everything shifted.
I eventually stepped away from the clinical world, and in 2020, during a season of life that looked nothing like I had planned and as a single mom of a toddler, the idea for Inspired Play Cafe was born. I took the risk, and we opened our doors in November 2021.
Almost five years later, I’m married with five beautiful kids, and that little idea has become a place where thousands of families have played, connected, celebrated, and made memories.
Today I have a GM who runs much of our day-to-day, but I’m still very much behind Inspired—creating, making decisions, dreaming about what’s next, and working on my next big thing as an entrepreneur. 😉 from time to time you’ll even see me running the cafe as a barista most likely with a baby strapped to me!
There are a lot of chapters between this little girl and who I am today, and I’m grateful for every one of them. God has been faithful in my life.
So if you’ve ever wondered who’s behind Inspired Play Cafe… hi, I’m Bianca. 🤍 I’m so glad you’re here.
