Breast Cancer Awareness Month holds a special place in our hearts at Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating. Our founder, Seattle Sutton, and our Lead Dietitian, Alyssa, are both breast cancer survivors who proudly wear their badges of courage and share their stories to inspire, encourage, and support others facing this disease.
Their journeys are a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection, ongoing support, and taking care of our health. 💕
While a healthy lifestyle cannot prevent every cancer or guarantee a particular outcome, research shows that nutrition, physical activity, and maintaining a healthy weight can play a meaningful role in breast cancer outcomes, recovery, and overall quality of life.
Here are a few simple ways to support your health:
🥦 Nourish your body. Choose fiber-rich foods like whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables.
🚶♀️ Keep moving. Find activities you enjoy, whether it’s walking, swimming, cycling, or strength training.
💗 Make your health a priority. Stay current with recommended screenings, know your body, and talk with your healthcare provider about any changes or concerns.
And above all, remember that healthy habits don't have to be complicated. Small, consistent choices can make a meaningful difference over time.
This month, we celebrate Seattle and Alyssa, honor every survivor, stand beside those currently fighting breast cancer, remember those we have lost, and encourage you to be proactive about your health, support one another, and never underestimate the power of sharing your story. 💗
Early detection matters. Healthy habits matter. And every story matters.
