Indraloka, the “Heaven on Earth” Animal Sanctuary - with Indra Lahiri (vegan)

https://www.facebook.com/IndralokaAS/

Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, located on 100 picturesque acres (~40 hectares) in Pennsylvania, USA, provides a forever “Heaven on Earth” home for hundreds of rescued farm animal-people. The sanctuary also welcomes thousands of annual visitors, giving them the opportunity to meet its lovely residents.

On today’s show, we meet Dr. Indra Lahiri (vegan), the founder of Indraloka, and discover why she decided to start this remarkable sanctuary. Dr. Lahiri explains that she had always felt a deep connection with animal-people, a connection that began when she was a baby.

As a young adult, Indra earned a PhD and worked as an organizational psychologist for several global companies. However, in her heart, she still longed to help the animal-people she loved. Thus, she left her successful corporate career and in 2005, founded Indraloka Animal Sanctuary.

Indra shares why she selected the name “Indraloka” for the animal-people sanctuary. “I’m Indian, and I was raised Hindu. And so, my name Indra is the name of the king of gods and the god of storms. When I was a child growing up, I came across this concept of Indraloka, which is the Heaven that the god, Indra, created for the gods. And I was also at the same time, being taught that all life is sacred.”

Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan): “Gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Dr. Indra Lahiri (vegan) for dedicating your life to protecting and caring for the helpless, innocent animal-people, plus US$10,000 as a humble token of loving support for the Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, with all love, respect, and appreciation in GOD’S GRACE. Wishing you continued success in your noble work, THANK YOU for living my dream and may Heaven bless you abundantly.”

Carol Royle (vegan): A “Leading Lady” for Animal-people Rights

https://www.carolroyle.co.uk/Biography

https://www.instagram.com/carolroyle/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Royle

Carol Royle is a renowned British actress and producer, perhaps best known for her roles as Jenny Russell in the BBC series, “Life Without George” and Lady Patricia Brewster in the ITV series, “Heartbeat.” At the 2021 La Femme International Film Festival, Ms. Royle was awarded Best Actress for her portrayal of Prudence in the short film, “Put Away.”

In addition to her career as an actress, Carol, a long-time vegan, has been a tireless advocate for the rights of animal-people. While performing, she refused to wear animal-people fur or shoes made from leather, insisting that these be replaced with vegan alternatives. She also supplied her own make-up, to make sure all products were vegan. In addition, whenever meals were provided to cast members, she insisted that hers be plant-based.

Celebrities can have a significant influence in raising awareness about the vegan lifestyle. For example, Joaquin Phoenix spoke about veganism during his Academy Award acceptance speech. Carol humbly talks about her own role in raising awareness. “When you become a very famous star and you can really do things, like open restaurants and like Bille Eilish did say, ‘It’s only going to be vegan in my concerts.’ Then that’s brilliant.”

Ms. Royle states on her website that her primary philosophy for life is, “Do unto others as you would have done to yourself.” In accordance with this philosophy, she taught her children that animal-people must never be used or abused. Carol Royle believes that in the future, humans will feel deep remorse about their treatment of animal-people. “I do believe that we will look back with horror at what we do to our animals in terms of how we keep them, treat them, exploit them, wear them, eat them. I believe that that will be one of the things that we will look back on in the same way as we look back on, the atrocities of the past. I mean, bullfighting. It’s like something from the dark ages. You can’t believe that civilized people carry out things like this.”

Peter Egan (vegan) has been gracing our screens and stages since 1967, starring in a wide genre of movies and sitcoms such as “Chariots of Fire,” “Gobble,” and “Bean: The Movie.” He is most recently known for his role in “Downton Abbey,” and he has also been featured in documentaries for the animal liberation movement, “iAnimal: Through the Eyes of a Pig,” which highlights the cruelty of the industrial animal-people raising operations that are destroying the planet. Mr. Egan generously shares his vegan transition experience.

“I considered myself to be a very compassionate, animal-loving human being because I love my dogs, but I hadn’t fully focused on where my food came from. And then, about twelve years ago, I watched a film called “Earthlings,” which is a devastating documentary about intensive animal agriculture. The film is so shocking and shows all forms of species of animals that we eat and how they are dispatched. I found it so completely depressing and upsetting that I decided there and then, after watching this documentary, that I would never eat any animal product again.”

“I feel incredibly happier. I find it wonderful. Spiritually, my life changed fundamentally because I now don’t ever, ever have death on my plate. And I feel every time I eat a meal, I feel uplifted by the fact that the food that I am eating has been compassionately produced. And that really makes me feel, spiritually, a million times better than I ever felt before. I found that when I stopped, when I took animal products out of my diet, I also stopped having any kind of acid reflux.”

As part of Mr. Egan’s contribution to promoting the vegan lifestyle, he prepared a speech for the COP26 Summit, a meeting of World Leaders to instigate mitigation plans for a sustainable future for our planet. We share an excerpt of his speech dedicated to the words of Supreme Master Ching Hai from Her book published in July 2021.

“In the book ‘Love Is The Only Solution,’ the author also addresses methane as a large emitter. She says, ‘You may ask, what is the main cause of this damage and destruction to the environment? Perhaps surprisingly, it’s not the coal industry or cars or planes or trains or boats or ships. It’s methane, methane (which) is produced primarily by the livestock industry.’

So, if the livestock industry is the primary cause of this disastrous situation, well, the solution is easy, isn’t it? We must all change our diet. I mean, surely, everyone can do that! Once again, the untold story is that families don’t understand how they can dramatically reduce global warming. With a fierce commitment to their own health and a huge love for the animals and for Mother Earth, they can surely change their diets and, by doing so, make a massive contribution.”

Lee Hall (vegan) - A Life Committed to Animal-People Liberation

Lee Hall (vegan) is a highly respected lawyer, environmental law specialist, writer, author, animal-people rights advocate, and public speaker. Lee was vice president of legal affairs at Friends of Animals, and has taught law at Rutgers University, New Jersey, and Widener University Delaware Law School in Delaware, United States.

“I thought, ‘Think of all the ways that I’ve used animals: for food, for entertainment, as pets.’ I decided, I made the commitment to cut them all out at once. And I’ve been doing it since 1983, so 39 years now.” “As a new vegan, I was working for an airline, as a freight and baggage handler. And it was the animals shipped in freight. This was always a horror for them.” Eventually, Lee could no longer bear to see the immense suffering of the animal-people, and made a momentous career decision. “It was Property Law. [The] very first case in law school taught us that the one who has the complete control over the animal first is the owner. It is a challenge - animal law.”

“Health is an element of veganism. But the vegan definition is much broader and much deeper than that because veganism, it’s a social movement. And veganism is based on the principle that human beings should live without exploiting other animals. So, it is a movement for respect and for understanding who other animals would be if we didn’t control them systematically, if we cared about them in the sense of respecting them.”

Lee Hall is the author of many publications and shared the inspiration for the 2016 book, “On Their Own Terms, Animal Liberation for the 21st Century.” Lee believes we must do more. “First of all, all conscious beings should be respected as persons. But human rights are not what they need. Animals really need liberation. And that is only meaningful if the land, the water, the air is respected for them and left untouched.” “Can we then focus on free-living animals and defending their liberty?”

Veggie Elite: Vegan Pioneers in Hip-Hop Culture

https://suprememastertv.com/en1/v/200570386468.html

Today, veganism is taking the hip-hop world by storm. Lawrence Parker is a rapper from New York City who goes by the stage name KRS-One. In 1990, KRS-One released the song “Beef,” which was aimed at educating his co-citizens about the animal-people factory industry, as well as the harm done to human health from eating animal-people flesh.

Texas, USA-born singer- songwriter, record producer, actress, rhythm-and-blues (R&B) soul, and hip-hop artist, Erykah Badu (vegan) has been a vegetarian since she was a senior in high school and a vegan since the early 2000s. Erykah Badu has spoken at vegan festivals, hosted vegan dinners for A-list celebrities, and used her platform to empower Earth’s citizens to shift to a planet-friendly lifestyle. “If it is not in alignment with nature, it is not for us.”

Another Grammy Award- winning female hip-hop and R&B artist loves to talk about her own vegan transformation. “When I went vegan, I reversed my anemia, I also reversed my osteopenia, I didn’t have any breaks, I didn’t have any fractures, which was strange to me.” In 2019, she even took winners of her “Vegan Challenge” on vacation to Costa Rica.

Robert Fitzgerald Diggs (vegan), known by his stage name RZA, is a founding member of the legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan that has been producing hit songs for over 30 years. According to vegnews.com, 80% of the band members are vegan. In 2021, RZA partnered with vegan cheese brand Violife and non-profit Global Impact for an initiative called Plant Grants, which provides grant money and mentorship to African-American-owned and operated food businesses.

Founded by the DJ and musician Keith Tucker (vegan) in 2009, Hip Hop Is Green (HHIG) is a non-profit and is the first hip-hop-centered plant-based health and wellness organization in the world. Over the last fourteen years, the project has led to the first plant-based Hip Hop tours and served over 20,000 plant-based meals to children across the United States.
