The last load on the the last day of 2019 and the last time that Johnson’s gather sap! It is the end of an era and really the end of a century long tradition in our family. Johnson’s Farm was sold yesterday including the sugar house. It is hard to imagine how many years and people contributed to the the years of sugar making. At risk of missing many I am going to mention those I can think of. Solomon & Anna moved to the area from Sweden to start the homestead. Their son Phillip and his wife Marion took over. Then it was passed to Phillip (Gus) and Kathryn who had Wanda, Brenda, Mary and Steve Johnson. Steve eventually took over the sugarhouse. The years have brought friends and family members who have given time and work days to help during the short season. Debra L. Webster-Prevost, James Jackson, Paul Lussier (Joan Dahl-Lussier, Courtney Woodcock, joe Mitchell (Janet Mitchell), Todd W**d and Franklin County Tech students, Timm R Phillips, Tim Bishop, Bob Brooks, George Reed, Merle Powling, Paul Miller, Fred Mock, Elwin Devoneaux, Joe Adams(Joanne Clark Adams) Danielle Adams Jacques, “little” Joe Adams, Bryan Hall (Jillian Bastine) Greg Wright, Gus & Jake Kukas, Andy Kukas, The Carr brothers, Leon Niccolelo, Mitch Savoie (Eiovas Sarah), Chris Thorpe, Boone, Bob Bouchard (Terry Bouchard), Chris Mahoney, Roy Piragus, Liz Carr, Aaron Carr, Nate Lussier, Olivia Lussier, David W**d, Amanda Carey, Gabe Murphy, Megan Romani, Gary Hebert, Bob Thurber, Lewis Webster, Tom Bates, Emily Dwinnellz, Johnathan Drexler, Scott LeBrun, Chad Blackbird, and probably many more I forgot! It’s been a great ride; thanks for the memories and allowing the tradition to last as long as it did!

With 5 days until we close, we would like to take a moment to recognize and thank all the people who have supported Johnson’s Farm and made it a wonderful experience for us.

It takes a special person to cook from 6:45-11:30am without a break, doing between 200 and 275 breakfasts. We have 6 cooks who fulfill this role for us without a grumble. Our nighttime cooks never receive complaints from the customers and night after night provide the standard menu items you have come to love, as well as specials to keep the menu fresh.

We get all kinds of compliments about our friendly waitresses. They create an atmosphere that makes Johnson’s Farm what it is, and they have become what makes us different from other restaurants.

While you are washing your dishes, think about our dishwashers. They never complain when they wash the dishes of 250 guests AND all the pots and pans.

Some places close because they cannot get enough help- we have never had that problem. Everyone has always stepped up to cover absences or family emergencies. Our staff took care of us and always had our back.

We would like to thank all of our customers for your years of loyalty. We are honored to have been a part of your family celebrations including engagements, marriages, retirements, birthdays and births. We are grateful for the long lines, your patience waiting for a table and for all of the kind words as we prepare to close. We are proud to have served our community for 17 years and wish you all a wonderful new year!♥️

We will be closed Tuesday for Christmas and reopen Wednesday at 7am!
